better on better ground too.

that was gruelling to watch, sometimes makes you wonder if horses should be raced at extreme trips on extreme ground imo. A hard race that was.

If i was Willie Mullins i would seriously consider running Mikhael D in the world hurdle. On a line through Dianmond Harry and Karabak he has the beating of Big Bucks.

i would run mdh in world hurdle as well.purely as times running out for a campaign over fences.wont beat bbucks tho.

Don't know about that.
How close you get to Big Bucks and getting past him are 2 different things.

I love Big Bucks! However, once again, I have been unable to give the beast a high speed fig. His run at Newbers last week was roughly on par with what I have given him in the past (90).
Could it be that the decent staying hurdlers at the mo are not that brilliant? To be honest, I don't know. What I do think though, is this: If something half decent comes along between now and Cheltenham, Big Bucks would be worth opposing. I am still of the opinion that if Zaynar gets 3 miles he could pose a serious threat in the world hurdle and could be better than Punchestowns at the trip.

Think your post sums shows why speed figures (a laughable term for measuring 3 mile hurdles in heavy ground) are a load of sh1t Fastbear.

Why anyone puts any faith in them for NH racing is beyond me.The unbeaten reigning World Hurdler,Big Bucks,is rated the best hurdler in the world yet you can't give him a high figure so you're looking for alternatives to him - what does that tell you ?.

A rather flawed system for measuring horses ability.

think so TD?

If he were mine, with Kauto 11 next year, I'd be schooling him over fences intensely between now and november to win the Gold Cup

This is the horse that takes over Kauto Star and Denman

make no mistake of it. Stayers Hurdles are nice, but there is only one gold cup
