COLM MURPHY is upbeat about the chances of Zaarito, one of fifteen horses to stand their ground after the forfeit stage for Sunday's Grade 1 Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse.
Zaarito has taken a couple of high profile falls in his career, including at the final fence when challenging in the Grade 1 Dr P.J. Moriarty Novice Chase at Leopardstown in February, although he appears non the worse for that mishap according to his trainer.
"He's in great order, I'm very happy with him. I'm praying for a bit of sunshine but then again he's gone on all ground over the winter," said Murphy on Tuesday afternoon.
The trainer added: "We're hoping for a clear round and if he has one I think he can go close."
He looks likely to be joined in the line-up by the Willie Mullins pair Kempes and Shakervilz, while also among the entries are the Adrian Maguire-trained Let Yourself Go, joint top-rated with Shakervilz off a mark of 143.
Noel Meade is triple-handed in the entries with Fisher Bridge, Nicanor and Jered, while Tony Martin has entered recent Clonmel winner Psycho. See U Bob is an unlikely runner according to trainer Paul Nolan.

plenty of rain and a bit of snow last night but looks like being a dry day here with temps up too so a couple of days like that and it will be fine imo....
