Pastoral Player for me, one run, one win this season, a literal reading of his Newmarket run gives him the clear beating of hawkeye, deliberately kept fresh for this by Hughie Morrison who is not the worst trainer for these big handicaps?.
Come Saturday the draw should at least have sorted itself out if any?, then again you can never be sure if rain falls on well watered ground?. Oil Strike at bigger odds might be worth a nibble?. |

1st Time .. Hoof It looking good with a drop of juice? Listening to Mattie and (was it) Mottershead on ATR yesterday and he mentioned trainer thought this potentially top class.

With the stable in form, each way Blue Jack for me.
He would need to be a group horse to win with that weight but he just might be one. |

hoof it should prove to good for them won with a wee bit up his sleeve last time.conditions looking good for him and fallon up....

Ground could be very soft come the off tomorrow.
Cheveton could go well if so. |

Waffle will love the ground, gets his preferred 6f, many will be stopping when this is flying...GL.

Pastoral Player will hate the ground...Deacon blues will win Jonny Murtaghs agent is very good at locating good rides for his client in big handicaps. Take the early price big gamble tomorrow. Macs powe doesnt have the class to get his neck in front in a race like this. It is important to back something that stays a little further if the ground is a bit testing in big prestigious handicaps. Good Luck and all the best.

Yeh conditions have changed for the worse as regards Pastoral Player, just looking at "Evens and Odds" drawn perfect in 28 excellent 2nd on soft ground in the 2009 stewards cup behind Genki who runs in the Jubilee.
There is of course though the Dandy factor to be taken into consideration. |

Waffle very unlucky was flying at the end denied a clear run 1f out gutted
