Stats like this are there to be broken.
|
|
By:
Er... yeah!
It kinda massively fell down when Sea the Stars won! However, the sheer talent /class of him lead to his entire career being a 'stats buster' so can be excused somewhat. A similar thing has happened to my Oaks stats with Snow Fairy, who just didn't fit the criteria at all. It seems her trainer was caught by surprise too judging by her 2yo campaign. Like Sea the Stars, she's subsequently been shown to be freakishly good. |

I love the Confirmation Bias at play here. Sea The Stars broke the trend - therefore, he must've been a rogue result and the trend is watertight.

Jeez Keith, it's not the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but it's an interesting diversion nonetheless!
Nearly the whole field qualifies this year! And are you suggesting that Sea the Stars wasn't a once-in-a-generation freak? |

Dancing Brave was a May foal

Point holds: Dancing Brave once in a generation freak.

The 'trend' as it were was also bucked two years in succession in 1992 and 1993 by Rodrigo De Triano and Zafonic, both exceptional horses in their own right.
I agree with the poster above about this being a diversion or at least another less significant angle than say perhaps your sire being a Group 1 winner. I think that one is 23/23, although I'm not 100% sure. |
