Over 1000 Greyhounds will Race around Mainly Empty Stadiums
Approaching 500 of these Greyhounds will have completed their races By 2.30 in the Afternoon
Incredible Numbers , totally unsustainable , Meanwhile Re-homing Numbers are rocketing
Whats has this sport become ?
Boothby on the Monday Column going on about the Blue Cross ..My question to him would be ,Do we need dogs being Fired round tracks at 8 AM in the Morning
How much profit does he make out of that ?
It is Animal Exploitation , Until they are dumped off at the End of their Racing Days, SHOCKING
This whole sport needs a massive Reset , and Quickly ,The sheer numbers of these dogs being Fired round Empty tracks is Beyond belief ,and perhaps the Biggest
Cause for concern this Sport has ever Faced ,Ask yourself as a Fan of Dog racing ,is this what you want to be associated with ?

There must be Hundreds and Hundreds of Ex Racers in Kennels ,We need a Gradual Reduction in Racing and a Gradual increase in Pricing for those Paying for the Product
In no world can we have 5 Morning dog meetings Never mind the rest , How many of the Dogs are owned by anyone ?
We are on a slippery slope to Disaster ..
How the Antis are not at Tracks filming racing in Empty stadiums and Showing the Pittance the animals are running for is Beyond belief ,It can't be long .

I completely agree with the opening post and subsequent reasoning....the answer to the problem is to return Greyhound Racing to an independent sport which means privately owned stadiums with approved and experienced attached trainers with those stadiums setting their own meeting agendas making their business work by attracting paying punters through the doors and selling some of their meetings to bookmaking companies and i am not sure that is any longer a feasible business model.....bookmakers are killing the sport with their greed and historic unwillingness to pay the real value for the satellite service creating a situation where they were able to monopolise the sport by securing stadiums and then running those businesses for their own agenda....the whole situation is a paradox with a short term view but unless an authority with some real power such as a government can recognise the wholly unacceptable scenario and bring in legislation to prevent bookmaking companies running the sport it will not change but for all the reasons set out by casemoney the sport will end and it just a question of how soon that happens.....
Have to agree, very sad, not had a proper bet on dogs for a while, I still watch all the opens and I just scratch my head sometimes, IE 643 Rom, where that run from 3 come from? 1 punted and never lift a paw, too many pies, this happens so many times and the cowards on RPGTV will neve say a word, just glad as an old un ive seen the best of it, from being a youth and seeing Desert Pilot to Diamond Room Wimbledon, great great memories, went all over the country watching great dogs run, now I wouldnt cross the road to attend.

They blather on about “the good old days” etc
The reason that the so called good old days are gone is mainly because it’s o the telly free of charge 7 nights a week plus 2 day times
Why would you bother to go? Particularly in the winter time
The reason they have the same old same old predictable guests and “experts” on every week is because they are phoney too, they kiss arse, tow the line, in truth “thanks for my £200 a pop “ they don’t REALLY care about Greyhound Racing, they do care about being on the gravy train

I’ve never been so disinterested in greyhound racing as I am now.
Sprint after sprint after sprint, delays to racing, hare failures, trap failures, dogs turning their heads, non chasers.
As a spectacle it looks awful with trouble in almost every race. In all my years I’ve never seen so many dogs getting
knocked over.
I watched some Australian racing the other morning followed by the fare on show at our tracks.
The contrast was embarrassing. One looked to be a professional sport, the other run by amateurs.
I watched RPGTV a couple of weeks ago and I felt as if I’d entered a parallel universe.
It’s greyhound racing alright - but it’s not the sport that I used to love..
