If the racing manager would like to contact me I will buy him a decent alarm clock, so he can get up on time to sort out the farce that is Suffolk Downs, Mildenhall, greyhound track. TheGoddess 28 Aug 23 11:57 Late again this morning FFS!! Aladdin Sane 01 Sep 23 08:17 Yet more problems again this morning. It’s just embarrassing… shoodacoodadidnt 01 Sep 23 09:08 It's the hare that doesn't get up on time - very lazy hare Big muff 18 Sep 23 11:20 Another delayed card......shocking Aladdin Sane 18 Sep 23 13:56 I think that most people would accept the occasional delay due to unforeseen circumstances. The problem, as I see it, with Suffolk Downs and Towcester is that delays have become the norm and the only thing “occasional” is their ability to run races on schedule. Running an hour and a half late, as they have been today has, more or less, become acceptable which is just ridiculous.. Aladdin Sane 19 Sep 23 10:43 Another meeting today, and same old story..
Greyhound racing in this country, as we all know, has just become a laughing stock.. Aladdin Sane 19 Sep 23 10:54 Another meeting and yet another delay! This morning’s meeting running around 25 minutes late..
It just appears unprofessional and symptomatic of UK greyhound racing.. Aladdin Sane 19 Sep 23 10:56 Oops, apologies. Didn’t think first post went through so rewrote it and submitted again.
Totally unprofessional and symptomatic of my typing and IT skills! casemoney 19 Sep 23 14:50 According to Stan Kennett The remedy is Beaming Irish Meetings into the Shops and More Irish Coverage on Racingpost gravy TV ,Plan B is Afghan racing casemoney 19 Sep 23 14:52 Plan C is any animal other than a Horse with 4 Legs , that will not need re homing wondersobright 19 Sep 23 15:31 what price virtual sh1te filling some gaps on rptv next year wondersobright 19 Sep 23 15:31 12 graded sprints from towie & 12 from brushwood SlippyBlue 19 Sep 23 16:31 Imagine taking someone racing for the very first time and bring them to Suffolk Downs.

But where would you take someone Greyhound racing for the very first time? SlippyBlue 19 Sep 23 19:27 England - Hove Ireland - Shelbourne Park
Outside the London tracks, that are no more, Hove was always my favourite. During the Suncrest Sail era especially, and the mid 90's Regency win, Hove was a tremendous place to go. sparrow 19 Sep 23 20:08 Last time I went to Shelbourne was about 20 years ago and very much enjoyed it even though I lost. Been to Hove many times but the last visit was a Sunday BAGS meeting also about 20 years since and there was a total lack of atmosphere despite a fair crowd for that sort of meeting. As a Social Club Secretary back in the 1990s I often arranged trips to Belle Vue and Sheffield with the Manchester venue much preferred and many of these people were going racing for the first time but unfortunately Belle Vue is no more. casemoney 19 Sep 23 22:36 Monmore a nice Enough track sparrow , Pelaw for a night was Fine of a Saturday , Proper dog people there , Not full of six packers , A few youngsters enjoying the Evening Its up close up and Personal there, you can stroll Down to the Paddock see the Dogs etc ,sadly Saturdays have gone, I would go once a Month for a night out , The Manager RPTV Dave appears to have no interest in even one Saturday meeting a Month ,Could have an 8 race intertrack With Toon and Sun and Rotate the meetings ,each advertising each other , But of course that Cant be done for what ever reasons , So there is not even a meeting in the North east on a Saturday Night , Unfathomable tbh
Once great spectacle of Dog racing is No More , For many reasons , Cant see the sport lasting another 20 years . I was lucky and Caught the end of an Era Attending the City etc , Sparrow more so ,They were great Days even when I started to go to the City in the 70s ,The don was far from the Worst some great times there , To be left with the Derby Venue we now have is shocking ,I think there is actually a Strong case for Moving it every 2 years If various other tracks can comply .. With the Dog situation as is it is hard to see what can be done , Never mind new blood into the Sport its hard to keep Avid Dog Fans interested .. sparrow 20 Sep 23 08:53 I suppose we have said it all time and again and maybe are just wasting our time now. These days I just play a few races at night and the only track I play more than once a week is Sheffield. casemoney 20 Sep 23 13:41 Not a bad card at Rom Friday Sparrow ,a Few stayers races wondersobright 20 Sep 23 13:50 full fields as well @ brushy get them combi fc tc bets on sparrow 20 Sep 23 16:13 Yes case and I thought Romford had given up completely with the 750m trip. First for quite a while now. Aladdin Sane 22 Sep 23 08:35 Another meeting - same old story. First race actually went off on time and now we’ve reverted to type… Show 40 per page sort by: Oldest First launch forum pop-uptopicsrefreshreply
