Has the card at Suffolk Downs ever started on time ? If the racing manager would like to contact me I will buy him a decent alarm clock, so he can get up on time to sort out the farce that is Suffolk Downs, Mildenhall, greyhound track.
I think that most people would accept the occasional delay due to unforeseen circumstances. The problem, as I see it, with Suffolk Downs and Towcester is that delays have become the norm and the only thing “occasional” is their ability to run races on schedule. Running an hour and a half late, as they have been today has, more or less, become acceptable which is just ridiculous..

Another meeting and yet another delay! This morning’s meeting running around 25 minutes late..
It just appears unprofessional and symptomatic of UK greyhound racing..

Outside the London tracks, that are no more, Hove was always my favourite. During the Suncrest Sail era especially, and the mid 90's Regency win, Hove was a tremendous place to go.

Last time I went to Shelbourne was about 20 years ago and very much enjoyed it even though I lost. Been to Hove many times but the last visit was a Sunday BAGS meeting also about 20 years since and there was a total lack of atmosphere despite a fair crowd for that sort of meeting. As a Social Club Secretary back in the 1990s I often arranged trips to Belle Vue and Sheffield with the Manchester venue much preferred and many of these people were going racing for the first time but unfortunately Belle Vue is no more.

Monmore a nice Enough track sparrow , Pelaw for a night was Fine of a Saturday , Proper dog people there , Not full of six packers , A few youngsters enjoying the Evening Its up close up and Personal there, you can stroll Down to the Paddock see the Dogs etc ,sadly Saturdays have gone, I would go once a Month for a night out , The Manager RPTV Dave appears to have no interest in even one Saturday meeting a Month ,Could have an 8 race intertrack With Toon and Sun and Rotate the meetings ,each advertising each other , But of course that Cant be done for what ever reasons , So there is not even a meeting in the North east on a Saturday Night , Unfathomable tbh
Once great spectacle of Dog racing is No More , For many reasons , Cant see the sport lasting another 20 years . I was lucky and Caught the end of an Era Attending the City etc , Sparrow more so ,They were great Days even when I started to go to the City in the 70s ,The don was far from the Worst some great times there , To be left with the Derby Venue we now have is shocking ,I think there is actually a Strong case for Moving it every 2 years If various other tracks can comply .. With the Dog situation as is it is hard to see what can be done , Never mind new blood into the Sport its hard to keep Avid Dog Fans interested ..

I suppose we have said it all time and again and maybe are just wasting our time now. These days I just play a few races at night and the only track I play more than once a week is Sheffield.
