By way of celebration Towcester and Central Park have put on between them 13 so called two bend races for our enjoyment. Cry

None at Central Park and Towcester but my point is about the amount of 2 bend nonsense being served up nowadays. I wonder why we never had any in the 60s apart from a once a year competition at Southend?  Maybe they didn't want to lose the many thousands of people who actually used to go to the tracks.

It's all a complete nonsense, although I will say this.
Last week I was actually in a betting shop, in Southend of all places. I was just killing time and did a couple of placepots earlier in the day so was checking up on them.
People WERE betting on these sprint races believe it or not and not only those but also Australian cherries as well. WTF!
I only knew this when a punter was cheering on trap 7 and I looked up to see the black jacket of 7 take the lead in the run in.

Oh and as an aside, when I went to use the loo it had ultra violet lights in them, I haven't seen those anywhere in South London shops for many a year. I spoke to the lovely manageress of the Corals about it and she told me all the betting shops have them and most of the pubs do as well.

Not good.

Kinsley to race Behind Closed doors, tells us exactly where the sport has ended up , Foooking Scandalous exploitation of Greyhounds ..

Exactly Case, the bookmakers have complete and utter control of the sport. They can get dogs withdrawn in a race where a rick has been made, they can manipulate the going at will. Trainers contracted at bookmaker owned stadiums is a scandal. It all adds up to being a fookin shambles

Just said on RPGTV that Monmore as well are going to be run behind closed doors.
Economically unviable was the soundbite. It's beyond a joke.
