Not a reflection on just the greyhound markets, horse markets also running at a fraction of past good years. Whether it’s the premium charge or not I’m not sure. I don’t mind paying it along with plenty of others I know, but it becomes irritable when it’s leaving markets open to huge fluctuations for very little money...

£115,687 matched. If memory serves that was more than the derby. Not sinse the demise of sky av we seen that much traded. Only bin watching them run 55 yrs. There was no form to go on for him being out in car park. But u can form an opinion on wot u,v seen over the years. Thats y we do it. I put on twitter last night its not about the money anymore. Its about being right. Prove to myself i,m still seeing things right an keeping my mind active. Have a good day gents.

You had it spot on private by continuing to lay it up to 2.4 unlike those with no opinion saying at odds on or evens it was a lay and at 2.4 or whatever it magically became a back.

PH., you are one of the most knowledgable around and it’s nice that a few of the old school posters are still here and betting their judgement. Fair play to you and I’m sure this won’t be the only time opinions clash.. but that’s why this game is the best around, the way we see races, prices and value. It’s the best sport around for that and I hope it has many years to come. Be lucky all.

It didnt magically become a back sparrow
It became a back when it yielded a suitable return Weighing whether a bet yields a suitable return is what it is all about isnt it ? |
By:
It would be boring and much harder switch if we all wanted to back the same dogs switch. All the best.

You lads trying to read The minds of dogs ? guessing.....is probably the best description the potential of probability can be gained either by guessing.....lazy town......undertake the mathematical equations...only reliable with known inputs or through years of educated experience gained by watching untold races allowing the provision of analytical decisions based on expert opinion.......for my money ph falls into the last category which is in a different post code to those guessing....... |
By:
you never ever know what is going through an animals brain.
Its hard enough working out humans. So we are guessing what they are thinking. How good we are at guessing , is what we pay to learn. The odds that you get , and hopefully the return is your reward. But one thing in this sport is absolutely certain in my experience. You never know. |
By:
do you honestly believe that those consistently winning at the game are just better guessers than those who struggle.........
By:
some are stuck in the bracket of ok judges. bad punters imo.
By:
Exactly paint.
Big difference between judging whats going to happen in a race.....or trying to ...... Getting the probabilities right. Then punting accordingly. |
By:
Is it me or has this dog completely changed his style of running. He has undoubted big speed but i feel 25/1 for derby is laughable. He dont finish of his races anymore imo.you do want be of front towcester but i feel 500 be beyond him these days.
By:
hard to make you wrong PH, front runners track or not 500 be hard to see out full tilt
win or lose 25s is silly |
By:
Should be miles bigger. Draw dependant dog over a searching trip!
Was the lay of lays back at central park but now even the lazy punters who thought he was just `an aeroplane' are falling over themselves to push him out when draw outside qaw/fast up dogs. |
By:
Defo media hyped dog. They cant c it or they can and wont admit they are wrong about him. Could u imagine him running saturday night 550 h.q. impossible.

By:
I would bet him in that race , Round tow
Never been beat from red |
By:
@ CP he would be favourite IMO
By:
Dog needs red or 2 with a slug inside , draws have beaten many a good un .
25s Short enough but looking at whats around and where the race will be cant be much bigger |
By:
Imo he,s a 66/1 chance currently. Wedge has put up 5 random dogs. H.q. he would probably get lapped. You av to realise the difference btwn irish dogs an english dogs is huge. You only need to look at last few derbys. Cant find english dogs on radar. The irish dont sell the good dogs anymore. I reckon i could name 20 dogs 525 irish dogs that would lick him in a match h.q. upwards of 30 dogs 550.

By:
Ill have a 2000-30 anyone wants to stick 66 up

By:
if SP i would not bet him Just that Tow hes an Ideal dog if he can grab rail would keep qualifying
By:
Which in itself sums up the Exciting derby that we have to look forward to. Dogs are all still cascading inwards round 3rd and 4th bend

By:
Ye i dont like gaff case for reasons you give. There are several others. You dont c dogs come of rail goin into 3rd n come round dogs. Very rarely.
By:
Spot on Ph it seems they are all being forced in wards Very strange
By:
