I have always been a big supporter of this exchange and haven't used a bookmaker for some 15 years or more but yesterday was an eye opener for me. I simply wanted £100 to place on a dog priced around 5.1 to 5.5 and all I could manage eventually was just £40 and this on the biggest race of the year. Only last year I managed the same amount on a minor open race at Henlow televised on RPGTV at odds around the 7.2 mark. The market last night was unbelievably weak with single figures in some columns up to the last 3 or 4 minutes which leads me to wonder about the future of betting in this sport.

sparrow try putting your stake up and normally the bots collect i will agree that it appeared poor liquidity on the final but i took a chance and put my bet in and was matched at the death

follows the general trend of declining liquidity, especially in minority sports & derivative markets

been happening for a long time

yes sparrow i left bets on the 3 for a place got matched better than ew price

Mine was also on 3 but I just took what was available as whenever you ask for something all that happens is the price starts shortening!
As said earlier 5.1 to 5.5 which in previous years in this race you could have got easily long before the off and I think myself that we must have lost some of the better layers on here.

No one should expect liquidity from an exchange, it is what we make it. Personally if I have an interest in a market if there is no liquidity I will make two way prices & that helps to build liquidity in a market you care about & have a view on. My own dogs I will always put up prices I will bet them at & lay them at as I think I can assess their true chance (not always right).Try it you will be surprised how well it works.
