I was brought up in Hackney yet Clapton just up the road ran on the same nights in the 60s so hardly went at all until they introduced the Saturday morning meetings. Just shows how popular the game was then because you could walk across the Marshes from Hackney to Clapton in 20 minutes.

I have been dog racing for something like 60 years and one of the best bets I ever had was when Game Ball run at

Harringay after it came back from a rest I said to my friend these really good dogs can do it first time up

I backed it at around 10/30 traps went up and like a flash it was 4l clear won in a unbelivable time of something like 28.50 ish
