I notice in the Racing Post form figures the number of bend positions is either 2 or 4.

In longer races what do those numbers mean? Are they the first 4 bends?

2 bend...4 bend.....6 bend.....8 bend....10 bend...12 bend racing.....the bend number will reflect whatever incident happened at whatever bend over whatever distance the race is over......

He's not talking about the bend numbers in the race comments - but the four positional numbers at the front of the form line

OK.....never use that form and just looked so from results at various distances i would say they represent first two and last two bends......

Thanks for the info Winja and Manchester.

So are they not bend positions at all?

I assumed they were because short races only have 2 numbers.

Bit of a grey area but first number might be immediately out of the boxes
Report Clarence Worley October 9, 2019 7:28 PM BST
they are start, quarter, half and three quarter positions.
