Yeah I agree. It's very difficult to get revved up about this Derby. I do however have sympathy for the track and the ground staff. This torrential rain was almost an act of god. When I looked at the met.report for the area it described precipitation as 100% and I don't suppose that's good!
Personally I thought the track held up quite well. Winners came from every trap, didn't see any evidence of dogs losing their footing, balance, over-stretching etc; just very slow running. More than the usual baulking and serious run outs at the first but that not down to the conditions really. Trouble is more of the same horror show rain happening right now so how they prepare for this Saturday meet. will be tricky.We wanted a Derby, we've got one, that's about all that can be said that's positive. |

Had a bet 9/1 Look Like Power. Okay, rails dependant but did actually start fav to beat 6/5 Southwood Jet last time they met. Just think too much of a disparity. Power can pop out and unless Southwood foot perfect, Power squeezes the inner duo and no forlorn hope to hold his pitch. Think worth the risk at the odds anyway

How can Sparta Master be an 8s poke as drawn? It's like people have never seen Deerjet Sydney race or from boxes before, he may well get across (actually think he may) and if he does good luck to him but the price on the 4 is wrong!!

Agree pf ran a stormer last week as well , ur right fats 1 n 2 fast dogs but will they hinder each other 3 may well not clear them but just thought 12s too big , give 5 a squeak as well prob reading the race completely wrong

Managed to get decent couple quid Swanley chick 14-1 and mostly 12-1......imo she can break even better than she did in R1...gonzo has a a tardy break in him 2 often for my liking....pray for sum good weather, fast track, she be very hard led..i had her 5t1...still can bet 10t1 lads....ew bet to nothing..she come on for nother look 2.
