@casemoney, there was a rule introduced in the 1980's which stated "prizemoney payable to competing greyhounds only" therefore when any greyhound was withdrawn from a competition the owner received no prizemoney even the amount up to the point of withdrawal. Then an ex English trainer who had moved to Ireland had a Greyhound in the Puppy Derby final in Harold's Cross and as a result of a thunder storm on the night of the Final , he got caught in a huge traffic jam and was late for weigh in. The trainer / owner was told they would not receive any prizemoney as the greyhound did not compete in the Final. They stated they would take legal action if they were not paid the unplaced Finalists prizemoney and the rumour later on was that they were eventually paid the unplaced Finalists prizemoney. At the close of entries for the Irish Greyhound  Derby , I don't recall seeing this rule on the advertisements , so maybe the owner of Our Surprise , will be paid the unplaced Finalists prizemoney ??

i was always under the impression you had to turn up and run in final, to get paid on first six ew, a bit harsh but i'm sure that's their rules.

There was a rumour droops agassi wouldn't run the year bypass byway done the clock, but he made it thankfully and we got paid. He ran below par but he wouldn't have beaten the winner that night even at his best form.

Just read sporting press, **** are paying out on the non runner ew first 6, other firms are not, notably bet365, that rpgtv mob should pull cooney and ladbrokes for it, and if you are a regular in ladbrokes shops they have a discretion allowed up to a monkey they can pay, which might be justified in this case.

in my opinion for betting purposes......if you made the draw and were allocated a trap you qualify as last six and should be paid accordingly........

How far behind coming out of the 2nd bend does Kilmacdonagh have to be to realistically pick up Bocko? Or is it a case of Bocko leads he wins regardless?

Had a good bet clonbrien prince plate. Thought go round behind blue east in second place. Prove to strong from second bend in. Was on 11/4 earlier in week. S.p. now. Had a bet redzer ardfert 11/2 imo to big at those odds. Also backed sporting riviera 6/1 n 5/1 think this bitch be seen to better effect over further. Plum draw. Just an end to thread. 100% your correct case. If only you could plank h.q. in the middle of england game over here would be in a better place of that there is no doubt. A huge thanq to the guvnor p.f. when i said to him i thought the older dogs were to old and i was gona look at some young dogs who could improve enough to maybe make the grade into a derby winner. He put up two. Melodys dido n juhmeira sprite. Went thru there form n fell in luv with dido immediately. Many congrats to especially lenny ponder who has stuck to the task manfully and got his reward in the end. Many men with similar aspirations have given it up as a bad job. Also huge congrats to the holland family as all greyhound trainers do they work really hard. Imo there reward is the team of dogs they have around them. Trust me its not by luck. The reason is he,s the man to get the job done. I read somewhere this week he galloped his dog twice this week b4 final ffs i,d be terrified to death in case something went amiss. Avin bin involved in many big race campaigns i,d be more inclined to keep him on a lead. But hey i was a kennelhand and he,s a trainer. Wot do i know. I think the modern way of training is far more advanced than in my day and i didn,t do to bad. So looking forward to nxt years irish derby. It imo has always bin The derby to win.

Incredible night in SPK.... Think it was possibly the best night I've ever had on a track (not talking about punting), incredible atmosphere, massive crowd, it showed everything that is great about the game

Best night Atmosphere wise for me ,was Hawks 2nd derby , Helps when everyone is Happy with the winner  ,as in this Case with Len SP diffo class to what we have Left ,The whole event ..

If I have to listen these Gravy t0ssers banging on about Notts and Tow Again I might put a brick through the screen

Hawk's 2nd Derby was an incredible night in Wimbledon too, as was College Causeway in SPK but in this time with all the sheet going on about the game last night was truly special, all the good people showed the game at it's best
