My memory is letting me down. 1979 was my second Derby as Lacca Champion was my first a year earlier. Nanny, you’re bringing a tear to my eye with the mention of bowler hats and brass bands. Don’t forget the electronic tote board and all the paraders in their white coats.
Finally, and I don’t have any stats to back this up and I may well be looking through rose tinted glasses, but, from what I recall, relatively trouble free races. |
