Still beat the kid home
After he left his house 5 min later |

For me he's as fast as any dog in this Derby but faulty starting is still his achilles heel. However, ANY trainer would have/want him. ANY. He can get better, I'm sure of that.

Picked the bones out of Bruisers run. At first, thought he just wrapped it up early against slow starters but 5.14 split for him on slow going very sharp. If only he could do that consistently. Rising Brandy 5.16, Verve the other night 5.15

Improvement
From other weeks In another sport There be called in for a word !!! Maybe old age saying BIT OF SUN ON HIS BACK |

Obs. from last night.
Calico Ranger had another look to the inside dog on the run in. Shame. Dog definitely not straightforward. If Bruisers Bullet could consistently display that early you’d fancy him to go all the way. Next time he’ll give us a 5.31! Magical Bale has had six races but last night it looked like he’d had twenty six. He looks the real deal to me and runs the track beautifully. It’s amazing what a different track can do to a dog’s style of running. At SPk Black Farren scraped the paint off the rail, last night he ran everywhere bar the rail – middle and wide. And he ran well. Conns. must be encouraged even though one of his joint owners has slated Towcester with vehement conviction in the past! Once Tyrur Harold sorted himself out – suffered three different bits of trouble in the race – he ran on well. I wasn’t keen on how Rising Brandy ran the bends here but he led all the way and beat a fast dog. Dorotas Wildcat won;t be fully wound up yet and I am not disappointed with his run. He will improve on that. His pace to the bend then his determination to lead coming out of it is simply awesome. |

Great wknd. Great racing and a worthy winner of trainers championship. Disappointed with betfair tho. Early races being cut of on time wen dogs wernt even out. They to there credit sorted it later. No place market or match bets. Why not? 2nd biggest meeting of the year. Despair for our sport these days. To many different factions all pulling in different directions pulling sport apart.Tragic. terrible journey home. No trains beyond carlisle. A 2 n a half hour journey on an ancient mercedes 16 seeter all the way back to auld reekie. Got back 3 hrs later than i should av. 1 thing i will say about towcester is pay no attention to times as u will end up talking to yourself. Dont know if its because of the constant watering or not but the times will drive u mad.

I stayed northampton fattie. Just over a score in cab there an back. If 4 in cab a fiver each way. I dealt with amber cabs. Very good. No issues at all. Heard some got stuck lookin for cabs after racing. Why they didn,t pre book a vehicle only they know.

Dorotas Wildcat another poor run , got a dream run to bend. Very surprised still so short for Derby don’t think this dog has the minerals for the slog of the derby 29.73 clear run was only 2 lengths down on his sectional. Led at the 1st bend. Just can’t see why it’s so short
|
|
By:
Dont know if he,s had a problem or not. Seemz quite a way short of work to me. We knew about the problem the bale dog had thats probably why he,s a bit behind.
|
|
By:
Wildcat collared in the Eclipse but Hutton had him spot on for the Shootout just a week later. That 28.86calc entitles him to be near top of market. If only he could get his trapping sorted out
|
|
By:
A "poor" run? Are you having a laugh? I've read it all now.
|
|
By:
LH what I mean by that is Wildcat has had clear run done 2973 led at 1st bend would be classed as a poor run by the trainer I would expect
|
|
By:
Ok mate. That's where we differ and that's allowed. I would think the trainer was delighted with the run. I wasn't from a betting point of view because I got 11/8 in the early afternoon and backed him but as a prep race for a six round Derby I would think the trainer would be delighted with his well being. Bar his trapping of course. That'll always be a worry. For me Wildcat has given Black Farren a length and half out of the boxes and led him a length into the bend. He's then shown determination and taken the lead around the bend - which we are told can't be done at Towcester - blown up and ran second to the Irish Derby runner up. The time is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned because we know he has a 28.85 in him round here.
I'm not saying he's winning this Derby but big Kev will know what he has in the locker and with pace like that he can go deep here. Good luck to you. |

Droopys Dave is coming, his advantage may or may not be ? is that he is a proper wide with amazing pace (not many like that in comp), but plenty of unanswered questions, how will he take to the track? the going? the bends? will he stay? we can but watch and learn.

Bizzy wouldn’t let times cloud
Much judgement other night Trails befor racing where very slow Most of nights racing where no where near derby times Bullet run he had rolling eyes Spinning tail |
|

Metro, it's actually Davy. He has wore stripes but think middle really. Fast and stays. Whether he takes to the track, the million dollar question. Superbly bred
