Really wanted to back Derby dog Droopys Expert. Impressed the way he stepped up to all age winning the All England and winning his last 4 races at Newcastle by an aggregate of over 25 lengths. However, such is the quality of this opposition in the Eclipse was hoping for about 6/1, not buttering me up this 9/2. Not alone in saying he's an exceptional talent, though
Droopys Buick and Dorotas Wildcat cant be far behind and wouldn't put you off either of those at 7/1 Would say Bubbly Bluebird has looked to have a niggle for me for a while and although very much my favourite dog when on song, feel I need to avoid currently. Same could be said of Bruisers Bullet but unlimited potential if fully fit So, bets. Think 25/1 Dorotas Vic (3rd to Expert in All England Cup) has each-way claims Same can be said of Northern Flat winner Dropzone (33/1) Will say don't think too much between Calicos Ranger and Blackjack, so not sure why theyre rated as 14/1 and 33/1 respectively? Would obviously favour the latter, preferring a dog to be more prominent than one that gets adrift |

Spring 10@
Surly leads 1-2 could hit each other Hope 6 ain’t close up on its tail Boomtown actor 9/2 again can see it leading Got beat 6 out but liked its win other week rd Notts Blackjack 5/4 voom rd the outside Red danger if that gets a clear |
|
By:
5/1 Expert just about good enough for a dabble
|
|
By:
Doesn't look like any mates can make it but still thinking of making the journey, nightmare from Manchester though it is
Fatty, cant even see Spring leading in that hot race. Bluebird wins if firing but doubt it. Baz is very sharp at best but got reservations just now. Zack may just be taken off his feet here, so that leaves 5/1 Vic to hopefully come through Actor might lead but 500m as far as he wants and could be pressed by Wildfire Lord. At 7/1, little bet Cappoquin Jack to prove strongest Liking the Blackjack dog too but at the prices, 8/1 Barricane Tiger is capable on his day Good luck anyway, Fatty Brilliant racing! ![]() |

Draw for semis and latest betting
1 Spring 2 Cappoquin 3 Buick 4 Baz 5 Expert 6 Blackjack 1 Heroic 2 Bluebird 3 Bull 4 Bruisers 5 Dropzone 6 Shadow 1 Tiger 2 Brandy 3 Piemans 4 Wildcat 5 Actor 6 Ranger 11/2 Expert 6/1 Bluebird 7/1 Buick 8/1 Wildcat 8/1 Ranger 12/1 Bruisers 16/1 Blackjack 16/1 Shadow 20/1 Bar Apart from defeats of Buick, Expert and Wildcat, most noticeable was the vast ground Ranger made up on Dropzone and Expert. Never really a fan of dogs that get adrift but some effort to catch that calibre of hounds. Scratching my head how he turned round about a 10 lengths deficit on Expert in particular? |

By:
Because its absolutely raving and will pick up anything if its in the mood
|
|
By:
Aye, noticed the way he veered out to Dropzone on the bend after the was over. Got some gears though, fighting pace!

Bluebird led fine first round but thought Baz a slightly unlucky second to only be beaten a length after not his best break and crowding, so not sure why 6/1 Bluebird and 20/1 Baz. Sticking with Expert anyway in first semi where obviously Buick is a serious player
Bluebird should take the second semi but hopeful of qualification for speedy Dropzone. Not currently convinced about Bruisers Ranger flies from halfway but not my type of dog. Litter brother Brandy excelled himself first round but both may find Wildcat too sharp in the last semi. Sure he can lick Actor early and gain a posi on the inside |

SEMI PREVIEW
Heat 1 Knockard Spring dream draw could be overpriced in this heat drawn inside Bluebird in the heats may well of won and with 2 Cappoquin Jack moving right into Buick, Expert should get a great run into the bend with Blackjack but Expert just don't seem the same dog when in behind. Selection TRAP 1 Heat 2 Bluebird has a fantastic make up here with the main danger Bruisers drawn outside Bull run bolt so is very hard to get away from if Bruisers does cheat the draw then he looks the fastest in race, Dropzone and N Shadow respected Selection TRAP 2 Heat 3 If Wildcat leads it wont matter where Ranger turns it just wont be quick enough simple as the dog is devoid for 200 meters then the turbo kicks in but as much as is great to see he just lacks the class of the high end dogs. Saying that the ranger dog due to his chasing pace will be very tough to keep out of the top 2 in this Selection Trap 4 Can we get the dream final Bluebird Bruisers Wildcat Expert Buick Ranger |
|
By:
Bizzy, not sure Cappoquin will be turning right into Buick. With a decent start, Buick will leave him cold but hoping Expert comes up trumps. Don't rate Spring and Baz more of a threat if pinging
Agree with Bluebird but still sure he's feeling something and doesn't see out competitions properly. Think Bruisers needs more time and speedy Dropzone could hold on for a place With a break, Wildcat should lead up and that should be that. Piemans may deny Ranger a place in the final. Hope so, coz Ranger a red card just waiting to happen and would be terrible shame if he ruins the final |
|
By:
Woody, with respect, I don't think you should be suggesting that a top flight trainer would be running a top class greyhound, anywhere, if it "was feeling something". I just don't believe it anyway.
|
|
By:
For whatever reason, don't think Bluebird is the dog he was
|
|
By:
Actually, trite as it sounds, I never thought he was the dog that everyone else thought he was ( as good as he was last back end ) but for me he is the STANDOUT bet in the semis.
|
|
By:
Dont think he,s carrying anything. Think its mostly always bin in his head. Chance u take wen u buy a nervous 1. Imperious as a pup. He can hold his own all age. Not force e woz. Just a thought. He woulda maybe thrived in small intimate kennel dozen dogs or so.

Standout bet
I made bubbly 4/5 in 100% Now trap 6 non 4-9 or shorter Spring at 40s and tomorrow my play |

|
By:
Yeah, Newinn Shadow withdrawn
|
|
By:
Can only see the second semi going one of two ways. Bluebird beats Bruisers or Dropzone. 'Casts shade over 2/1 and basically 9/2 respectively, so gone with the latter for a nice touch

Bluebird just your new antepost fav now at 5/1 but only on the strength of straight forward semi, whereas Expert got a proper race on his hands. Thought Baz unlucky not to catch Bluebird first round but coz of the hot heat that's 25/1 outright. Everything crossed for Expert!

Had Expert and Blackjack shorter. Buick about right. Think other 3 struggle

Thought the calico dog in 6 at evens in the matchbet with baz was a fair bet with uncle fred. Baz bin goin to corner with divers boots on recently. Evrything swung of and let him in race in heat. Lots of pace inside. Looks booked for trouble. Calico dog not great up first straight the good thing is he runs wide on corners.should miss any trouble. Loox ultra strong from 2nd bend in.

By:
Hope you scored PH. Blackjack to be second was my bet, with his sure cleary out wide. On that showing, if it can keep reproducing it, Expert is a class apart for me.
