Ffs sake only ment to post
6 heats Is it first 2 in first round anyone ?? |
|
By:
Why on earth do you schedule a six bend competition alongside the 3 Steps
|
|
By:
Yep, just 2 through the 480m leg of the 3 Steps, then 3 from each of the 2 x 500m semis
Queen Mother competition final is always on Mothers Day , which was a few weeks earlier last year , but does seem rather odd scheduling. As for the Puppy comp, that was supposed to be for 36 dogs, ended up with 16 and 2 heats where 4 of the 5 runners will qualify. |

Not been so excited a dog to be stepping up to 6 bends as Droopys Live for a long time. Got to reach the final first though and although there could be some heart-stopping moments on the way, didn't need to be asked twice to plunge at 7/1. Not a good motivator early in races proper but has Derby speed over 4 bends, as seen when length and half inside Candlelight King's clock in a 480m workout recently. Any kind of run first two rounds and reckon will be odds-on for the final
Joining him, I can see Ballymac Ramsey, Stay Loose, Making Paper and Shaneboy Freddie coz of their 4 bends speed but sure none will get 660m in the decider. Tricky draws first round two so some may go out after all with only two qualifying Side bets Newlawn Simon/Rubys Razzle but waiting for bigger Early prices: 6/1 Ramsey 8/1 Bullet 7/1 Live 10/1 Rubys 12/1 Simon 12/1 Sapphire (not sure who 20/1 is with, Fatty?) 16/1 Murrys 16/1 Loose 16/1 Red Kite 20/1 Bar Saw Light Foot Mata run 590m Vue and don't think 660m would suit if reaching the final. Coolykereen Rake could surprise but red-hot heat containing Droopys Live, Rubys Razzle and Garryglass Champ. Qualifying places at a premium here even for Droopys Live but that's the gamble, getting through first round At 33/1 Swift Hansel and Garryglass Champ might do well but Fizzypop Buddy only a shadow of his former self One max bet for me so far, DROOPYS LIVE! Good luck! |

Fancy 5/1 Shaneboy Freddie and 4/5 Ballymac Ramsey tonight. Awkward draws reflected in the prices but think worth risking. Ramsey bang railer but much quicker than his rivals, whilst Freddie bounced back to his best recently and may only have mainly slow-starting Light Foot Mata to beat
Had a bet 11/4 Making Paper. Trainer Diane Henry was very disappointed unluckily eliminated second round of last year's Derby. He ran in Rio Quattro's final 2015 and although the December '12 whelp a bit old now for Derby glory now, may still have another crack this year. Runs Owlerton well and seen him come from last to first on a couple of occasions here. On the comeback trail but latest sprint trial augurs well Good luck! |

Fatty, everything going according to plan with Droopys Live. Coolykereen Rake ran a blinder to keep tabs on him but had cried enough after six bends, while Live looked full of running to the pick-up
Oi Oi 5/1 Shaneboy Freddie and 4/5 Ballymac Ramsey. Bad trap draws mean nowt if you got fast enough dogs ![]() Making Paper cramped and reckon close to retirement Just shows how two through first round can back-fire with Rubys Razzle, Light Foot Mata and Exiles Maestro all eliminated, only getting bronze. The other significant dog to exit was Newlawn Simon, only fourth after hitting the rails and all at sea round the track. Worsboro Zebo won well but bit of a thinker, imo. That type good to go when latching on, though. Murrys Act won the Juvenile whatever you may make of it. Fine winner but still have doubts for 660m like Ballymac Ramsey. Ramsey was treading water at the end of 630m Monmore, so no idea how he's going to get 660m Sheffield? Ryan laid me 5/1 Swift Burn for the Queen Mother Memorial and very happy she qualified in a race of changing fortunes |

Don't know what locals thought
Was inside running ok last night ? Pointless fast as anythink on her day , So her winning from red doesn't mean much Got queen mother by bollox as they say Up to her if she pokes her head in front By the time line hits ! When's the draw made ? |
|
By:
Made last night:
1 Chloe 2 Pointless 3 Vera 4 Swift 5 Fearsome 6 Tyrup Think Chloe will win myself if clear run, came from a different parish to win last night. However, didn't fancy Ryan's 7/4 outright. Tyrup showed good middle gears and could stake a claim. Hoping Swift pings and kicks from the front |

3 steps draw ?
|
|

Dunno, not sure I heard them say done at offices today

3 Steps semis:
1 Freddie 2 Live 3 Rogue 4 Bullet 5 Loose 6 Saffrons 1 Zebo 2 Sapphire 3 Coolykereen 4 Ramsey 5 Hansel 6 Murrys Not too keen on Freddie shooting up Live's inside. Fingers crossed Nightmare draw for Ramsey. Needs a flier Decent card for Sunday's Queen Mother Memorial final. Programme features Roxholme Magic, Glenpadden Rock, Sidarian Sky and Candlelight Fire Last meeting before my jollies and miss 3 Steps semis (next Tuesday) but might be around next Friday night Don't all miss me too much and get into a panic! ![]() |

Disappointed Oscar Whisky clobbered at trap-rise and I never got chance for the sweeties. However, still max bet Droopys Live, 5/2 now not 7/1 and don't think that will even last. Got 14/1 Clondoty Alex but Live win would trump that!

Rather than start a new thread, thought I'd continue on here seeing as Queen Mother Memorial already mentioned
Final Sunday and rooting for Swift Burn 5/1 antepost Main runners, imo 12.15 YAHOO PEARL, Meenagh Oscar 12.30 SLANEYSIDE BINGO, Fearsome Folly 12.45 THEOS ROCKET, Droopys Baresi 1.00 FOURPENNY LAKE, Boozed Annie 1.15 ROXHOLME MAGIC, Alfie Go 1.30 SWIFT BRUNO, Likely Outcome 1.45 WORSBORO SPECTRE, Master Lego 2.00 BOOMTOWN ACTOR, Geelo Storm 2.15 LIGHTFOOT MIKEL, Glenpadden Rock 2.30 ROXHOLME HAT, Geelo Tyson 2.45 SIDARIAN SKY, Clever Jamie 3.00 CANDLELIGHT FIRE, Barney Rubble 3.15 SWIFT BURN, Barnside Chloe Planning no not too big bets really and just some little interest wagers here and there Should be a very nice afternoon out Good luck! |

Dead right Bill. Shocked to see Chloe in front along back straight but loitered. My Swift Burn came again to challenge home straight but was looking over. If it had chased the hare I would have copped!
![]() Roxholme Magic last and took a very long time to get going before making it a runaway way, but much slower time than the clock she holds Sidarian Padre showed very good speed approaching third bend to make significant inroads on Candlelight Fire but blew up and barely held Barney Rubble for silver This sprinting pup Roxholme Hat looks a nice prospect. Gone in last twice for me now Dunno what happened to Sidarian Sky. Seemed to have back legs taken and nearly fell Can never get Old Joe Golden right. Still not convinced presently |

Still remember them aye ayeing forest twilight at towcester with pointless pearl 2 lengths off her down the back straight the inevitable short head victory for pearl ensued

Still only a tender puppy, Droopys Live doesn't actually turn two until May but she has so much potential. However, tricky next Tuesday with sprightly again Shaneboy Freddie on her inside on the charge to the bend and will barely be able to look. The other main two vying for a spot in the £10k final Category One final are Geelo Bullet and Stay Loose
Ballymac Ramsey has a pig of a draw in the second semi, whilst Murrys Act is well-housed wearing stripes. Competitive stuff though with Geelo Sapphire, Worsboro Zebo and Swift Hansel not out of it Shame superstar Ballymac Eske never raced again after winning the 3 Steps in record time 2014, but Droopys Live will quite feasibly prove just as good over the 660m trip The puppy event may boil down to Geelo Monty and Salacres Koeman come the Sky gala card Tuesday April 4th |

Anyone got a link for queen mother final race?
Nowso doesn't seem to have it on his site |

looks a lively prospect droopys live but quite young to be running 660 if qualifying.......would be unusual to have pace both ends at that age......
