woody in my experience when i have been skint or cash flow has been awful that punting is the worst thing you can do, you start backing favourites you dont really fancy because you dont want to say good bye to your money, or you can have too many bets in a competition (like here) or on a night. your attitude of "wanna spread my net to catch something" is never going to help, you need to be able to open your shoulders and be prepared to be the bigger priced things for same stake as its hitting one or two of these that give you the edge, rarely is there much edge in top end of the market certainly not on a consistent basis

PF, think everything's relative. Thanks Addy but I'm not really a gambler. Easiest route for me. Like the Derby, what chance have you got of picking the winner out of 220 odd dogs? If my purse stretches to a ton and I end up winning a ton fifty, I'm happy although only the equivalent of a 1/2 winner

Hopefully, will have my chances of a big win in the Derby too. Save The Don currently returns £400, as does Slippery Fred and Domino Storm

would not be surprised if Fred does not go, ran like an absolute drain in his trials and race at Wimbledon last year

Greenwell ace 9/2 well drawn worth taking on this field , one not run 5 months , two been poor , three just think he move off, four look to move in

I would not expect Fair Taxes to move off Fattie, more of a worry for him would be having Cunning Barney on his outside if he did outtrap him as he would go left over here

Fatty, spoke to Julie Bateson about General Sherman and she said he's only been round unsuitable tracks. She reckons Shawfield will bring out the best in him. Hope so for my little stab's sake

I love when trainers come out with that stuff, if i owned the dog i would then be asking why the fack am i paying you to bring the dog to run at 4 different tracks none of which are suitable for the dog

Liking 9/4 Droopys Buick now Peregrine Falcon non runner, leaving vacant trap. Reckon Cable Bay silly short for a slow riser, who I doubt very much could overhaul a leading Buick. Clear Shaneboy Freddie and can do the business. Little 6/1 Ballymac Alamo saver to do better than market suggests Leave At Dawn may be a shade below best but nothing to beat and would be disappointed if not winning. 10/11 looks fine to me Good luck! |

Always thought General Sherman could be a right good dog when running around Kilkenny in his early days but he has just continued to find trouble in pretty much every race since he went to England, fast dog but must be head wrecking to own

20/1 Sherman gone. May still be worth a little bet at 16/1, with another bet for him to finish second to Fair Taxes at 15.8/1 (BOG)
