Last week, 6 won the 1st and 3rd in the 2nd. 5 won the 3rd, 6 won the 4th, 5 won the 5th, 6 2nd in the 6th. Then, the Derby is the Derby. 6 2nd in the 11th, 6 won the last. Not get your point? Same for them all

Skywalker Manner @ 9/4 (was too big, made him slight fav ahead of the 2)

Coolykereen Jack (nap) @ 10/3 last night (this was an absolutely huge rick for me, won't give my reasons as some may be upset by what i say)

Coolavanny Pat @ 8s, 7s, 6s (again looked too big, was up Keplar Nine's ass on the corner last week after a moderate break and lost what he was beatn around the opening bends)

Sonic @ 13/8, 6/4 (3 and 4 going left, 6 slow up. Am puzzled how people think he has a bad draw. Worst case scenario surely Ela Alecko leads around and Sonic will destroy him from halfway home)

Holycross Leah @ 9/2 (way too big, has a big chance to lead around on the fence this week and crucially in front of the 5, if she does she won't be back run)

Ballymac Belle @ 4/5 or bigger (she runs anything like she did during the Derby she will not be beaten)

hope i ain't tempting fate putting them up here

Seems B*yles will be going 5/4 Sonic

Looks on the cards Sidarian Pearl will break better from T2 and hopeful she'll lead up the other inside runners. Could still be a profitable Derby after all. Don't give much chance to Ballymac Matt, every chance last night and nowhere near Sonic. If Sonic not away in best style, Matt could hold him up though, leaving Pearl to master Rural Hawaii, who has a dream draw and every chance of winning the Derby but may throw it away running wide final bend. Holycross Leah and Escapism have reached the final on merit but think need things to go their way

Hope they're right with Sidarian Pearl. Much better drawn but still every chance finishing, finishing 6.5 lengths behind Rural Hawaii in the semis and will be hard to turn the tables. Too short, imo. Again, cant see how Holycross Leah turns the tables on Hawaii, too short. Don't see how Escapism can be 12/1 when clocking only a head slower time than Hawaii.

Not easy for Sonic to clear the 3 inside runners at the bend. Was hoping for a better effort from Sidarian Pearl in the semis. Just feel she may have already peaked now. The one I'm liking now is 4/1 Rural Hawaii. Every chance to do his running. Very hopeful if far enough in front before swinging excessively wide off the last bend

Yes Safari, glad youre having a good laugh but when ive finished backing Hawaii it will obviously be for profit and you can blah blah blah to everyone you got egg on yer face, as usual

The 2 bitches are the wrong way around, i am totally convinced of this. Last night drawn 2 and 5 they managed to impede each other slightly on the run up as Leah edged off and Pearl edged inwards. If they where drawn the other way around Pearl would surely be a lot shorter, she of course can still win but she will have to beat Leah at boxes for me if she is to win as she must lead.

If Sonic does come away as he has being his last 3 runs the only one inside you'd be worried for him clearing would be Sidarian Pearl, he has already shown he can easily clear Ballymac Matt, he cleared him in the 1/4 final when Matt got the better start. Once clearing the inside his only other problem lies with Rural Hawaii on the corner, if Hawaii does lead him and cut the corner ala that 1/4 final Sonic just needs to avoid him as the 1/4 final showed he can back run him. Think he has been magnificent this Derby and while i may be biased think he deserves to win the competition.

Rural Hawaii has a smashing draw and is a wee bit big @ 4s, will have to lead but is drawn too.
Report woodmanchester September 11, 2016 3:05 PM BST

2 Claims at best with flier, but below par in semis
3 Defending champion but very hard finding 5 lengths with T4
4 Only defeat opening round, faultless since and worthy favourite
5 Lacks early zest, likely to arrive on the scene too late
6 Only defeat behind Sonic but drawn for a huge run

you talk some utter sh1te, you'd be fkin creaming yourself if Ballymac Matt wins again and what has he done this Derby if you're saying a Leah win would be a travesty?

Matt won 1 round, his first round when his main dangers Priceless Brandy was a doubtful runner near up to race time and Coolavanny Wendy went wrong (and checked up at the gate in the straight). Yet you'll be lauding Matt a superstar and one of the greatest ever should he win.

Stop talking outta ya ass, it's a brilliant final and whoever wins it good luck to them

Only one bet for me in final at current odds - can anyone please explain to me how Escapism is 12/1. Yes he will need a little luck the next night but it would have been worse if he was drawn in 6 as Hawaii bolts right on leaving traps - I can easily see him getting a clear run and clocking 29.60 - that prob won't be good enough but who knows - 12/1??

Woody fack off, i posted a while back about 25 dogs you'd backed (at that stage something like 12 of them 50s or under), two have made the final  Matt and Hawaii (Matt 25s and Hawaii no bigger when you decided to say you backed him) , you said you where all over Clares Rocket for the Derby, could not stop backing Droopys Roddick, Skywalker Rory then appeared as your big winner, now somehow the 6/4 fav for the final is only a small loser ??

Perhaps you can give me tips on staking as i know if i'd have got pretty much everything wrong like you have all Derby (ante post) i'd have done my fackin ballacks and be living on pot noodles for the next 6 months.

PF, I lose on virtually everything but at various amounts, lose more on some than others. As it stands now, cashed out some Pearl at 14/1 and Hawaii at 16/1, £150 staked. Sonic returns £120. Had £11.54 at 11/2 Power to return £75 at one point. The rest on at 7/4 exchanges. Only really Leah causes big damage, returning only £75 (partly free bet). Derby from hell. Was banking on £250 Clares, or £200 Roddick, Rory. If they'd have remained, wouldn't have been having many other chasing bets

Maybe race at Hawaii's feet not the correct choice of words but feel he has much more of every chance than Sonic. Both at peak and think Hawaii can do better than last time they met

Don't think he's got loads to worry about in the quarters but certainly new fav Sonic, might not always lead when he comes up against faster dogs early and not losing any sleep about not included in my team

Said Rocky's English Derby run more significant since Jaytee Jet and Droopys Roddick out and so it's proving. Glad I went in at the 16/1

Matt doesn't look like the Derby winner this year and think Rory needs to improve too for my antepost

Zhivago and Barkley just savers but might top up Gyp, putting him in the black

Good luck!

According to my calculations, this is the god's honest truth. Cross my heart and hope to die, gospel

Total Stakes £155

Returns, of which this is 100% certain:
£75 Leah
£110 Pearl
£150 Matt
£120 Sonic
£125 Escape
£125 Hawaii

This means further bets:
1 £9.38 at 7/1 (returns £150)
2 £6 at 4/1 (£150)
3 X
4 £10.91 at 7/4 (£150)
5 £2.28 at 10/1 (£150)
6 £5 at 4/1 (£150)

Total stakes would then be £183.57 and I would have lost £33.57 on the Derby

The £150 would be certain returns. If youre still in doubt, maybe you would say I've staked more than £183.57, but I don't think so

PS Sorry PF, but seems I keep being forced to justify myself

PPS Agree not a clever way to go about things but Clares would have put me £67 in profit
