A terrible indictment of Britain lads , shameful really. The people who go in and out of the shops seem average but those coral traders were embarrassing. It was clear they only want mug punters , the patronising and exploitation of uneducated people is what is really shameful. |

Thought it was the most sensible bit of tv regarding punting/betting shops I have ever seen.
It gave a very fair reflection of what betting shops and punting can be about. Focused heavily on the sick/compulsive lad who's almost every penny goes on the machines. The majority of the other shop punters looked physically/mentally in some form of ill-health. Showed the coral head office staff and shop staff to be normal people trying to earn a wage and who have to follow company policy. Then showed a fairly intelligent fella who does some research and can win at punting but who is getting restricted. |

showed korals for what they are just looking for mugs to bet with them trader on the phone what colour code is he green let him bet 2 flies up a wall clueless no chance amber be careful first winning bet the door that way red no chance don't even come in shop don't want your business,disgusting bunch immoral when you can only lose at something with no chance of winning had many dealings with this crew best ever in old days of oxford was betting in the morning hit around 5/6 winners won best part 5200 went in a fortnight night later to have a bet surprise surprise the womem who took the bets the manager had been severely remprimanded went to final warning had only worked for them 28 years the area manager forced her out had to make a statement for her as she took them to court for un fair dismissal they settled out of court but they are one of many there all the same on the high street rant over

yeah I saw this , unreal laddys scam , restricting bets has now been going on for some 13 years in my personal experience , betfair is a god send. Unfortunately they are well within their rights to stop taking bets off people. So the only time I really bet with bookies now is at the track and even then its with Johnny Mull , who will lay me anything to be fair.

I watched it ...what a load of mugs - with the exception of course the geezer that was actually winning a few bob....and of course what did they do (the bookies) closed his account !
The message is simple ...if you want a bet on a regular basis use the exchanges...they couldn't give a f**k how much you win ...they earn a commission. |
