6 bender ravage

i dont know beeb,i noticed that off trial sheets also
Report patrick starr December 3, 2014 7:29 PM GMT
its the shorter of the 2 6 bend trips ravage...655 as opposed to 686
Report putmeonpal December 3, 2014 7:58 PM GMT
They have increased the white sight boards further round the 4th bend and this seems to have rectified the problem now. At least they have had the nous to address the problem quickly
Report patrick starr December 3, 2014 8:25 PM GMT

Report woodmanchester December 3, 2014 8:26 PM GMT
Wouldn't mind going but depends if me and mate would get there in time after football. Should be an excellent opening night, more than decent card Happy

Surly a watching brief
Rather than punting card
655 trip is it on the bend?
Report patrick starr December 5, 2014 12:18 PM GMT

Report woodmanchester December 5, 2014 6:40 PM GMT

anyone going from east sussex ?
Report Ravage Again December 5, 2014 9:31 PM GMT
Yer just from the video on RPTV last week was hard to tell and I reckoned him looks short straights

My heart sank with the racing manager confirmed he wanted resale wide bends so eight dogs go go around safety which in turn means as the trip is 480 it meant that the straights had to be made short

FFS what type on idiot designed that yes you want dogs to go around the bends safety but the most important thing it to have long straights

Like hove monmore or Newcastle

Btw Newcastle trip should be 500 m not 480 where the boxes are located if anyone says its not a long run to the bend
Report woodmanchester December 6, 2014 8:46 AM GMT
What's the gimmick behind the £10,000,000 Colossus race, worth only £1k to the winner?
Report daveg December 6, 2014 9:42 AM GMT
I'd guess it's sponsored by the firm that offer a correct score football bet with a £10,000,000 prize pool - took me 10 seconds to find on Google
Report irishone December 6, 2014 11:00 AM GMT

Report SOUP DRAGON December 6, 2014 11:26 AM GMT
Morning all,
Does anyone know if there is any live streaming of opening card?
Report IanP December 6, 2014 11:27 AM GMT
The run to the bend from the 480 start is about 60-65 metres.  The bend as about 10 metres after the winning line with the traps a similar distance from the 4th bend so the straights are around 80-85 metres .

The run up from the 655 boxes is less than 30 metres.
Report hectoratoratora December 6, 2014 12:06 PM GMT
Ian P you are counting the run from the winning line to the bend twice ,the straights are about 70-75m.
Report IanP December 6, 2014 12:12 PM GMT
Yes you are right, hector.  The split time will be after about 55m
Report hectoratoratora December 6, 2014 12:26 PM GMT
Dont fancy the sprints much myself.Theres nearly always plenty of scrimmaging in them cos everything has ep,combined with a short run to the bend, may be a recipe for trouble  .Hope not.
Report woodmanchester December 6, 2014 4:29 PM GMT
Case of suck it and see tonight with all dogs not suited to the track. Putting up to minimum stakes:

8.00 9/2 Darian Star
8.19 9/2 Burnfoot Alpha
8.34 2/1 Lenson Jed (now 7/4)
8.49 11/4 Holdem Hawk
9.04 13/8 Bubbly Time (now evs)
9.38 6/1 Razldazl Banjo
9.58 12/1 Be Up Front (each-way)

PS Good luck with Diva, Patrick. Only Millwards Master to beat on paper but suppose just qualifying the principal aim
Report Addictedtowinning December 6, 2014 5:20 PM GMT
Anybody betting on Towcester tonight must have a huge surplus of money over sense. I cannot see how a track where you are so far away from the action can be a success.
Report woodmanchester December 6, 2014 5:25 PM GMT
#eah Addict, if you call 7 dogs at 50p each a huge surplus of money! Laugh
Report Addictedtowinning December 6, 2014 6:18 PM GMT
Woody - No I think £3.50 total stakes is well within the tipping point of money against sense. Good luck with your bets.

them straights seem diabolically short watching that, what idiot give them the go a head?

.....imo a round track like that is just designed to help betting purpose, not greyhound safety.

Report Ron-Russian December 6, 2014 10:30 PM GMT
they are trying to get the track similar to the wall of death for betting purposes! Laugh
Report sparrow December 6, 2014 10:33 PM GMT
I was brought up in the game at Clapton which had straights of only 75 yards but it was a far better track than that. The bends were properly banked.
Report SlippyBlue December 6, 2014 10:41 PM GMT
I agree with you sparrow it does look very flat looking at that video.
Report sparrow December 6, 2014 10:46 PM GMT
I can remember Harringay banking their bends and it made a big improvement. And that track had decent straights too.

Report patrick starr December 7, 2014 9:59 PM GMT
Honestly gwlad, hospitality wise its just different class to anything in this country and the highest quality food you will anywhere in england or ireland imo,i went to windsor races a few months back on a monday night and did the restaurant thing there also, honestly not even in the same ball park as what we had last night mate,i honestly couldnt recommend it highly enough.

Viewing,we were in the grace stand which if you seen any pics of the place its not the stand overlooking the track its quite a way past the track tbh which i was well pissed off with and had plans on asking the waiter to silver carton my 3 courses so i could sod off outa there up to the ring,no need at all,the giant screen is of tremendous quality and you just watched that,it was crystal clear and could see everything easily mate.

After the meal we went up to the ring for a bit and watched a few races from in front of the books, again fine viewing, better than i ever imagined after attending the open day and coming away with that as a big fear for their plan, the lighting is superb,i actually think this place is gonna be so much better to watch racing on in the dark nights, the effect of the bright white light against the pitch black of the night really is something special to see.
Report patrick starr December 7, 2014 10:01 PM GMT
*highest quality food you will find at a racecourse

Excellent mate, that's what I wanted to hear.

Thanks for the detailed review Grin

Planning on taking quite a few people down so want it to be a good one.
Report stowking December 8, 2014 11:53 AM GMT
I was there Sat night with Starr and crew very impressed overall track had amazing buzz and the setting is superb. I am still not 100% convinced with the view as you just seem to watch the race on the big screen which is super but is that what greyhound racing is about?

But overall a great night 9/10
Report stowking December 8, 2014 11:54 AM GMT
Would point out the fact that I should wear glasses and I never do so that doesnt help !
