They have increased the white sight boards further round the 4th bend and this seems to have rectified the problem now. At least they have had the nous to address the problem quickly

Yer just from the video on RPTV last week was hard to tell and I reckoned him looks short straights
My heart sank with the racing manager confirmed he wanted resale wide bends so eight dogs go go around safety which in turn means as the trip is 480 it meant that the straights had to be made short
FFS what type on idiot designed that yes you want dogs to go around the bends safety but the most important thing it to have long straights
Like hove monmore or Newcastle
Btw Newcastle trip should be 500 m not 480 where the boxes are located if anyone says its not a long run to the bend

The run to the bend from the 480 start is about 60-65 metres. The bend as about 10 metres after the winning line with the traps a similar distance from the 4th bend so the straights are around 80-85 metres .
The run up from the 655 boxes is less than 30 metres.

Dont fancy the sprints much myself.Theres nearly always plenty of scrimmaging in them cos everything has ep,combined with a short run to the bend, may be a recipe for trouble .Hope not.

Anybody betting on Towcester tonight must have a huge surplus of money over sense. I cannot see how a track where you are so far away from the action can be a success.

them straights seem diabolically short watching that, what idiot give them the go a head?
.....imo a round track like that is just designed to help betting purpose, not greyhound safety.

2/1 and 6/1 winners. Could have been worse for an opening shot. Did your Diva Patrick but on an each-way treble, one let me down but hope your bitch somehow beats Billys Bullet in the final

What would you say about the viewing ect PS? and the hospitality?
I'm planning on taking some friends there in the future, who have never been greyhound racing before

Honestly gwlad, hospitality wise its just different class to anything in this country and the highest quality food you will anywhere in england or ireland imo,i went to windsor races a few months back on a monday night and did the restaurant thing there also, honestly not even in the same ball park as what we had last night mate,i honestly couldnt recommend it highly enough.
Viewing,we were in the grace stand which if you seen any pics of the place its not the stand overlooking the track its quite a way past the track tbh which i was well pissed off with and had plans on asking the waiter to silver carton my 3 courses so i could sod off outa there up to the ring,no need at all,the giant screen is of tremendous quality and you just watched that,it was crystal clear and could see everything easily mate.
After the meal we went up to the ring for a bit and watched a few races from in front of the books, again fine viewing, better than i ever imagined after attending the open day and coming away with that as a big fear for their plan, the lighting is superb,i actually think this place is gonna be so much better to watch racing on in the dark nights, the effect of the bright white light against the pitch black of the night really is something special to see.

I was there Sat night with Starr and crew very impressed overall track had amazing buzz and the setting is superb. I am still not 100% convinced with the view as you just seem to watch the race on the big screen which is super but is that what greyhound racing is about?
But overall a great night 9/10
