Mutts Silver was essentially a sprinter I think?  Phil Rees trained?
Report lockup May 22, 2014 6:12 PM BST
managed to get a bit of 110s on Nemesis the day after Scottish Derby was given him by a good judge at the track and had more on at smaller prices but have backed Mind The Net at lots of prices from 80s down and now Spy has gone (still cant believe it) would love to see Scottish form upheld.

Lanza, correct with PR and possibly my favourite greyhound. I was at White City when he won the Derby (and backed him AP). I wouldn't say he was essentially a sprinter, but I understand why you would think that as he contested many (won many) and had very good early pace, but he also ran in the Gold Collar (555 yards). The Derby he won was a fantastic field. Good days Grin

But he was a very quick away 480 dog

Yes, won the Southend sprint, also the Select and Silver Salver. Joint winner Greyhound of the year. I think it got knocked out of the following years Derby in the semis.

Nemesis didn't break in best style from T3 quarters but still flew. Winning a Derby never easy but with one of his customary splits, he would surely be prominent throughout if reaching the final? Suppose it depends if Mind The Net gets a run at him. Crokers Champ too should be up there for the duration. However, we are getting ahead of yourselves. They've all got to qualify first!

Report woodmanchester May 25, 2014 10:42 AM BST
Think it will be closer than many people think. Yes, Mind The Net impressive to the eye but a shade over 2 lengths slower than other semi winner Droopys Ward. True, Ward much quicker away than usual there but Net, T4 and goes wide early turns, will have Crokers Champ to catch, who will arguably benefit most from the week off. So, personally, would be very happy with Netty or Crokers (books a holiday on the coast), or Trent (think sneaked in under the radar and would either pay for the trip to London - if I go again - or money towards the Irish Derby.) Will be disappointed if any of the others win.

Good luck!

be hard 2 envisage crokers not leading..bit disappointed it got picked up so relatively easily in s/f
MTN breaking somewhat tardily in its s/f..can't afford that in final.
albeit crokers is a v good dog,do not want 2 see it clear at 1st bend & then carnage behind & has a hollow victory of 6-8 lgths
lets hope 4 a trouble free race & if so only one winner
MTN..fantastic dog.
Report casemoney May 26, 2014 2:13 PM BST
Don't think MTN was impressive at all Saturday ,Like to know what Trent was doing had the race at his Mercy ,Crokers plot in

final ,

Ward Looked a fresh dog Saturday night if he can clear salad going to bend he is a massive runner,IF?... Trent has a smash in

him
there in Lies his chance ,if he gets on with it .. MTN obviously Massive runner with a clear ..

G L to them all coz **** me you need it to win this comp Laugh
Report paulo47 May 26, 2014 7:11 PM BST
Think Ward will go left out of box , as in semi , may not be good for inside 2 but looks better for MTN .
Report LoyalHoncho May 26, 2014 9:30 PM BST
If Crokers can come out as per past form and clear the bend, Ward has a huge chance.  If Crokers dawdles early trouble looms for all as he paces up and outwards to the bend.  Outcome very unpredictable.
Report MullahOmar May 26, 2014 10:12 PM BST
Dodger moves sharp right from 2, be amazed if he doesnt instantly ruin Ward's and his own chance.
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y May 26, 2014 10:13 PM BST
yep 2 and 3 are drawn the wrong way around imo too
Report zolaisgod May 26, 2014 10:21 PM BST
6 is the only dog who has the draw he truly wants. 2 and 3 will do each other imo and 4 and 5 could also collide on the run up. 1 will lead from 6 and then its just a case of where 4 is off the 2nd bend. 10/1 the bottom is too big and ive had a small investment/saver in case either 1 fluffs the start or 6 bullets out.
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y May 26, 2014 10:23 PM BST
Can only see 3 possible winners. 1,4 and 6

Mind The Net out traped Kincraig Rory in the semi but Rory being inside showed more up (was disappointed with Mind The Net to the corner) but being inside him this time i think he can lead him and either turn 2nd to Crokers Champ or 3rd to Farloe Trent and he wins in both scenarios (imo)
Report woodmanchester May 26, 2014 11:26 PM BST
PF, that'll do me just fine. Netty, Crokers and Trent, in that preferred order
Report casemoney May 27, 2014 1:55 AM BST
Money for ward Plain which seems strange as said 2 n 3 look set to collide, but then again Trent may smash, ward misses,
Trent chops bend, Crokers runs off ,WARD FLYS ROUND IN 2nd place there is a man roaring like a lunatic at 1st bend Hes got the win, Fcast the Tcast ,the lot ...

He then wakes up Sad
Report irishone May 27, 2014 5:11 PM BST
can only see two possible winners, champ or mtn, champ from the front , mtn cross fingers
Report MullahOmar May 28, 2014 10:40 PM BST
Wouldnt discount 2 or 3 despite them probably coming together.
All sorts will be done with these dogs this week, dont discount a smash break from unlikely source.
If Salad came away better than usual and turned 2nd/3rd to 1 and 6 he can win with clear.
Likely be 25/1+ on bf on night which would be a bit big.
