Only had a quick scan but Cabra Buck must be up there?
|
|
By:
Only gone in lightly with 14/1 apiece Cabra Buck and Homeless Boy. Buck finished 2nd to Slippery Robert in last years Derby, ran well in the Gold Cup and Homeless got a 29.36 on his card.
Ardfert Thunder and Glenanore Dancer let me down in the Gold Cup, so looking elsewhere for savers in the shape of 20/1 Riptide Movement and 50/1 Laughil George - who could both go well on their best form. Interesting race Night Of Stars saw Ballymac Vic easily beat some leading contenders for this event, namely Skywalker Farloe, Hawaii Kinsale and Vanrooney so, yes, no better than an average renewal, imo too. Good luck! |

Think there is a stand out in the comp and have backed him accordingly.
26 - unseeded 5 - (m)s 5 - (w)s Looking at the (w)s i think 5 of them don't have a prayer so would expect the other to be the sole wide and plotted up come the final. Reminds me of last years comp when Camas went in round 1 it left North Bound as the only real (w) you'd give a chance too. Going thru the runners: Tyrur Sugar Ray is as fast as any and should go close but i see the same scenario as usual with him in that he will go deep but will eventually (probably the final) get draw with pace around him and have to do it the hard way against rivals who are not easily back run. Vanrooney looked an aeroplane around Harolds Cross and then Waterford, 2 tracks you'd think would not suit but he seemed to run them real well (convinced he will like Wimbledon too) but then disappointed around Shelbourne on the Night Of Stars. He too has a big chance but at 6s i don't wanna be a player. Cabra Buck was put in at 8s at first which i thought was a disgrace. Yes he finished 2nd in the Derby but he was barely getting home over 525y in the Gold Cup and god only knows if he will be staying on any stronger. I'd imagine myself and other Shelbourne regulars have a fair idea why he was staying much better during last year Derby!! Greenwell Hulk will keep qualifing, an aeroplane from the 2nd bend but when it gets to the latter stages it's hard to see how he can back run some of the big names if getting loose. Ardfert Thunder could go deep but does not appeal as a likely winner to me. Homeless Boy has huge pace but he had 6 races in the whole of last year and would have to run 4 weeks straight to win this, i actually thought his price was to stay sound for the duration. Glenanore Dancer is another who could go deep but does not appeal to me as a likely winner. Riptide Movement and Isabels Boy are 2 i think will struggle to get the trip as well. Ballyanna Foxtrot was running cack last time he was in Shelbourne, Hawaii Kinsale is not good enough in my opinion, same can apply to Tyrur Arthur and Blenheim Tricks (he does have lovely early though), Star Ace looks very impressive when dropped in grade but when up against the best seems to struggle, Skywalker Legend a bit like Greenwell Hulk could go deep with his finishing kick but can't see him winning it. Innameovhoff is interesting as they have now seeded him (m) which i think is a good move, whether he is good enough or not is another question but i don't think we have seen the best of him around Shelbourne and he looked to be finding some form last week. Anyway the dog i really fancy is Skywalker Farloe. Think this lad will have a massive year and is made for Shelbourne Park. Thought he ran real well in the Leger last year around Limerick and then ran a blinder when 2nd to Ballymac Vic on the Night Of Stars. Ballymac Vic done everything right on that night and by half way had a monster lead but take him out of the race and Skywalker Farloe fairly destroyed the rest of them and gave Hawaii Kinsale a cold down the back. He ran an absolute blinder on his comeback when short headed by Tyrur Van Persie over 525y and would have won in another stride in a race he needed the run. As i already alluded too with only 6 (w)s and 5 of them i don't fancy at all to go deep (be surprised if any of the others make the final) i find it hard to see him getting a bogey draw. I think the 6/1 still on offer is more than fair. |

Homeless Boy was withdrawn from that Ballymac Vic, Skywalker Farloe, Vanrooney race Night Of Stars but think would have taken silver if spot on. I remember someone saying they thought Paradise Madison price just to stay sound but he ended up romping that 575yds competition. Skywalker Farloe is useful but wont be finding top gear early like some of the 525yds dogs. Could come through, though.
Good luck! |
|
By:
I wouldn't have bet Paradise Madison @ 2s or whatever he was in that comp either had i played it - he was carrying a knock the night he won the final as well
I'd say Skywalker Farloe's connections would have been even happier had Homeless Boy ran Night Of Stars Woody, he was drawn 5 and was going turn straight left - doubt he would have been mapped from there to be honest, it was a pig of a draw |

Sky Legend is not a 33 shot, place only money probably

By:
you in 2moro night boss?
me and the other lad are on a quiet one although we do still have half of a bottle of patron up in the club for us (seemingly we bought another one ) |
|
By:
i don't like the card with all the shorties on it, probably call in to see some of the latter heats, the smell of drink would make me ill at the mo
|
|
By:
same with mooney, says he is staying off it - 1.01 that changes when we clear a few quid |
|
By:
I hope that was Mooney running around backing Farloe, his photo will be up behind the counter soon

Nevertheless, still looking forward to the action tonight. Topped up Cabra Buck and Homeless Boy
.Early prices on the heats, so all's rosy. Liking 7/4 Ardfert Thunder in the first. Think he'll get away and Greenwell Hulk come too late. 3/1 Homeless Boy fine for me, too. Skywalker Farloe could be hard to hold and Atitboy to put his best foot forward for the 10.38/1 forecast, ahead of Glenanore Dancer. Sugar Ray should overpower his rivals but about 8/15 cant be backed for my pocket. Maybe even shorter if they reform the market after the non runner but 8/1 stout stayer Skywalker Mandy (each-way) may stay about the same price. Think it could be close between 5/2 Cabra Buck and Riptide Movement with Vanrooney flying late. Rooting for Buck. Like the look of 3/1 Innameovhoff, seeing as not sure fav Tyrur Arthur running that well, like Priceless Bolt and Skywalker Legend too late. Laughil George could be the danger. Good luck! |

it will be a fav fest but some of those put in fav off course won't be on course

TAKEN 3/1 HOFF IN THE LAST

Ardfert Thunder couldn't quite shake clear, therefore Greenwell Hulk too strong.
Star Ace did well but Homeless Boy a shade disappointing after turning second. |
|
By:
Turned 2nd to Isabels, by the way

Oi oi the 10/1 Skywalker Farloe/Atitboy f/c. Great run by Farloe, drew clear from third bend. Fine 29.69.
Got another f/c up race after with Sugar Ray always leading Skywalker Mandy in fastest of night so far 29.64. Sugar Ray was always going to clock a time with that good start but Mandy made headway on him and deserves praise. Incidentally, forecast paid over 5/1 ![]() |

Yes and one of the worst commentaries I've heard for a long time. Pleased my Cabra Buck won but would swop for PF's Farloe or even Sugar Ray at this stage

Great nights racing and really impressed with Skywalker Farloe. Vanrooney will have no chance against these top dogs if he doesn't start to get his trapping boots together!
