Looking forward to going Sheffield tomorrow in anticipation of pointers for the festival meeting, February 4th. The heats are next Tuesday.

Tomorrow, several races have been duplicated and wouldn't surprise me if Candy Wheel does quite well against Akerview Gem in the opening bitches race. Lister's got a fine prospect in Coolavanny Fish and Bowtime Fella ought to make amends for his recent reversal in the sprint.

Very interesting clash between Aghaburren Paddy, Whiterock and Stepaside Bigjak. The latter is a fast-starting bang railer and could hem in Whiterock, leaving Paddy to come through wide and late?

Killieford Khali left the money in the bookies satchels recently, but major force if slightly more handy this time.

In the other bitches race, could be a match between Greenwell Lark and Caseys Wonder.

The race of the night got to be Harry Holmes winner Candlelight King against Hather George and Corkish Mick. Tremendous race in prospect and all bets will be dependant on early prices, which we will hopefully get tomorrow

Why do betfred bother sponsoring greyhound races

Don't accept greyhound bet over 50 quid so a waste of fooking time

Must be able to right it off inside of paying tax I guess

Don't think RP tissue too far off the mark. Picked 4, wait for prices. Might be betting Betfair SP. Could be doing a few f/cs, t/cs at track

Decided the bet combined odds dbl of 2.78/1, 4/5 Coolavanny Fish and 11/10 Candlelight King. Fish can do it either way and may have a shade too much firepower for danger Ballymac Bobbyjo. Candlelight King disputes track champion status with Pay Freeze and should put another feather in his cap.

Two small plays 2/1 apiece Akerview Gem (with slight question marks over dangers Candy Wheel and Sharies Miller) and Aghaburren Paddy (chance to capitalise on rails trouble).

Thought 5/1 Caseys Wonder fair enough on her best form, coz useful Greenwell Lark not been round. Small dabble anyway.

Good luck!

Well done with Bugatti, Fatty. Hope you was on at best odds guaranteed. Hather Sherlock a bit unlucky. I know Killieford Khali has won over 670m Vue but looking like a non stayer to me.

Coolavanny Fish let me down for the nice double, stumbled off second bend but very pleased with Akerview Gem and Aghaburren Paddy.

Got a forecast and tricast up, too. Very happy with the extra bet Ballymac Bobbyjo to beat Fish, f/c paying 7/1 on the Tote, for 7/4 and evens chances!

Frantic before Candlelight King's race. Didn't realise he had gone 6/4 at the track. Wonder what price Betfair? Could have weighed in! Settled for the Candle/George/Corkish tricast in the end.

Thoroughly enjoyed it and a very profitable night Happy.

PS Bowtime Fella costing his followers a fortune. Glad I nearly always leave him alone.

PPS Spoke to Barrie. He's going to take one step at a time with his Scottish Derby hope, again, Ballymac Eske. Barrie's a bit light on the ground at the mo but keep an eye out for Droopys Hawaii, being aimed at the Monmore Puppy Derby

Bit disappointing having two bitch competitions now. Splitting them makes both look weak enough.

Does a bit. The advertised hurdles and unraced competitions not taking place either. Wonder why no Pay Freeze in the Goals Galore, standard competition?

Wonder if there will be any antepost. Usually is on Sky competitions

Think youre right Brick. Sheffield final would have been Feb 4th (£2,600 Cat 3) but Newcastle heats Feb 1st (£4,250 Cat 2)

Very much liking the 9/2 Candlelight King and played accordingly. The track champion beat Droopys Pride and Pay Freeze in the Harry Holmes and maintaining the form, beat Hather George (7/1 saver) and Corkish Mick last time. Another saver 14/1 Farloe Striker. Same hot heat as Candlelight but won the Ryan Holmes and he's a puppy with great potential. Another red hot second heat where previously mentioned Hather George has a decent chance to go through, with Droopys Pride (impressive sprint winner) and Corkish Mick vying for qualification also. Golden Wonder's got the weakest heat (that's why he's so short antepost) but find life plenty tough enough if reaching final, imo. Bad draw T5 for a bang railer but not much pace inside so, if nipping out, could clear the field.

First bitch competition gone for Oaks runner-up 9/2 Greenwell Lark. She can do it either way and if her starts are in best fashion, take the beating. Same heat 14/1 saver Muirside Maiden. Capable of winning against market expectations and could be slightly underestimated. Droopys Hope looks the one in the first heat but faces some reasonable rivals. Sharies Miller seems to have it easy and could be the most likely finalist (hence short antepost) but may find one or two too good in the decider.

Second bitches event played 8/1 Ryma Boca. Got the draw, a fine all-rounder and think she should be fit enough to hoist the trophy. Akerview Gem is a worthy rival in the opening heat. She did me a good turn last week but might be second fiddle here. Pretty sure the outright winner wont be coming from the second heat, looks weak. 9/2 saver Wont Fall Behind in the last heat, seeing as Puppy Derby winner Bubbly Beauty disappointed in the Oaks, been off and may need more time.

In the individual opens, Ballymac Bobbyjo can turn in front and do the job. Coolavanny Fish out-trapped him last time but Bobbyjo showed the better early pace. Some will say Fish unlucky there (stumbled off second bend and forced to check 4th bend) but my money is on Bobbyjo wrapping it up run-up again.

Mustang Blitz is very fast but struggles a tad to get a good four bends. Competitive but fancy him to win the sprint.

Good luck!

Going rated -60 at yesterday morning's BAGS and only light rain forecast in Owlerton, so shouldn't get much slower. 6c tonight so wrap up warmly, if youre going. Never been a better time to travel, imo, with unleaded at it's cheapest for a long time, 126.9 per litre here in Manchester Happy

5/4 Sharies Miller, 2/1 apiece Ryma Boca and Wont Fall Behind, 6/4 Candlelight King and 7/4 Golden Wonder look okay to me. If youre looking for a bigger price, Ballyhill Lexi is currently 8/1. Watch for big price exchanges!

Good luck!

I know Patrick. Said bad draw earlier on thread but hardly any pace inside. Weak heat, imo. Pop out, seize rails, make all, maybe? Cant fathom why he's so short antepost, adding fuel to your argument

Candlelight King moderately away and just ran flat, disappointing. Not the final expected or what i'd hoped for with virtually all the good, big-name dogs eliminated. Hather George unlucky not to qualify, behind any-price-you-like Whiterock, though. Empty handed now. Will have to think again but Droopys Odell ran well. Likely to be short enough clad red, though.

Ryma Boca slowly away and never picked a foot up, very disappointing, like another hot fav Wont Fall Behind, who never showed at any stage. Luckily, Ryan laid me 8/1 Razldazl Katie after the Ryma race, so at least got a runner in this final.

Extremely pleased with Greenwell Lark. Whacked at the bend, any lesser bitch would have been on the floor. She was unbalanced and about 7 lengths adrift of tearaway leader Rewind Express along the back straight but still got up, quite remarkable.

Pleased with Ballymac Bobbyjo and Mustang Blitz, also. Very useful types.

railer Droopys Odell in Trap 1 Tuesday SKY seems too big at 6/4 with Bill's? when Trap 2 is slow away Droopys Dave. Now had a look round Sheff so should be better and whilst 1 not perfect box at Sheff not so bad when he's pretty much best breaker of line up against mostly finishers. 5/4 baldfrod and rest 11/10?

Youre right Swayne, the dog's flying with that Hove run too. 6/4 not within my budget for a single really. Looking at 10/1 Aghaburren Paddy and 12/1 Whiterock for the forecast.

Good luck!

Homeugo, I bet 6/4 with H ills Sunday a.m. With them there is no rule 4 for dogs, the bet reverts to SP. They reformed market today and at time I went back into shop today had not released prices but said it would be 4/5...Lads said Odell will open with them tmrw 4/5 too.  I thought about the revised price of 11/10 best with Bet frod and decided it was fair value but not enough for me, cos Davein Trap 2 was slow away in my estimation, so to me the make up of the race had not really changed despite one non runner, so I reckoned I was now being offered 11/10 whereas I thought 6/4 was value previously on same race dynamics, but not 11/10 so, at time of writing,  I've declined to play.  I dont know if bet frod rules are same as Hil ls, suggeste you phone them. Good luck

I meant to include after arguing they refunded me. Interestingly, they at first said it was now revert SP, I said no, after they offered 4/5, I said no, and argued that the guy on phone at HQ said he saw no reason why shop should not refund (but at managers discretion), they finally did refund......hard work...
