Anybody any opinions on Hot Pursuit the other night??

I will give mine anyway, to me he was chasing nowt out of the 2nd and more interested with Hawaii Kinsale on his outside thus allowing Stone Boy King to go up the inside and clear.
Report LoyalHoncho November 5, 2013 2:17 PM GMT
I couldn't work it out at all R.  I tried to convince myself that he had his heels clipped but I think I'm with you - he seemed not to be interested too much in being in front and it was wandering out to linger a bit that caused it.  Shame, because he can run.  Have you watched the start of the race again? Two young lads jump up onto the wall and show their heads over the top just as the hare is coming to traps.  I am convinced it was that movement that caught the eye of Mandy in trap 6, causing her to fluff her lines.  What a run she put in too.
Report woodmanchester November 6, 2013 7:33 AM GMT
Would be a slightly concerned if you're on Bully or Farloe. This Mind The Net can be sharp early and although both impressive last Saturday, the favs might not get all their own way. Farloe broke well enough but thought would have shown more pace up but his middle gears are tremendous.

Sugar Ray didn't turn left. Seemed he more like gradually came in and super run to turn second to the flying Riptide. Latter still a player if staying on a bit better, imo.

Happy enough with my outsiders at this stage: 33/1 Riptide, Trent, Pursuit
Report ReimerpYsatnaf November 6, 2013 11:25 AM GMT
You where happy with Hot Pursuit woody? Have ya seen the race?

I missed it live as I was late into Shelbourne (again) but thought the piss was being taken out of me when told he led and got beat by Stone Boy King, he ran rubbish and looked to have other things on his mind out of the 2nd bend

Still there though but after what appeared a great run in the 1st round I was very disappointed
Report frankalsoran60 November 6, 2013 12:15 PM GMT
Riptide at 14/1 with boyles is a very decent bet e/w 1/4 ist 4, should have no bother in quilifying for the s/finals, there could be one or two surprices in the other heats. Goodluck with your bets Wood.
Report LoyalHoncho November 6, 2013 12:25 PM GMT
I was less impressed with Riptide last time, looked to be coming to the end of his tether to me. Imo he has it tough here with two good and one decent stayers chasing him up the back straight.  If they catch him by the 4th he could fade out. Troika made up eight lengths on him the other night!  Not a win or a place bet for me - here or for the comp.
Report ReimerpYsatnaf November 6, 2013 12:38 PM GMT
I see what ya mean by the 2 kids jumping up on the wall as the traps are opening in the first heat the other night but don't think it had anything to do with what happened Mandy, she has a habit of missing it badly at times anyway but just lost her back legs on coming out hence making a total mess of it, seems to make a mess of it every time we have bet her around SPK too Laugh

Looking at it now and looking at the draw i think there is one in there that is massively overpriced, will have to play as do have a real soft spot for her anyway all the favours she has done us since last December.

As for Skywalker Farloe i was delighted with what he showed up the other night, it was more than i thought he would to be honest as he ain't great to the corner at all, if he can turn 2nd for the rest of the Leger [seriously doubt it] he will win it. Worried about him being outside Mind The Net again though as he was a pain in the ass getting in his way up and into the back almost causing Skywalker Farloe to stumble on entering the back as he had to check inside. It's a bloody stinking heat as well, he will need a clear to be qualifing.

only 365 chopper

in case i get accused of aftertiming i was referring to Locnamon Bridie in my previous post

As for tonights heats heats i think they've got them pretty much spot on
can't find a bet in heat 1 [Hawaii Kinsale matched my price to 100%, the rest where shorter]
heat 2 is pretty much the same [Jaytee Hellcat matched my price to 100%, the rest again shorter]
heat 3 is the interesting one as i think Ringtown Snowy is shockingly short, Skywalker Farloe is the one who is overpriced in my view, i made him a 11/4 shot so 7/2 is too big, had Bully 6/4 and Wolf 4/1 so they match my tissue
heat 4 again i think they have got pretty much right, made Stone Boy King 9/2 so the 5/1 slightly beats it and Ardrahan Zebo matched my tissue but the rest where shorter, Locnamon Bridie i made 11/4 and they go 5/2 so not much in it
Report LoyalHoncho November 9, 2013 11:53 AM GMT
I think Locnamon Bridie, in heat 4, is a great bet tonight.  She should be able to beat Stone Boy down, unhindered, and, thereafter, I have no doubts about her catching Riptide. Heat 3 is for watching but I am a great fan of SkyFar and he should certainly qualify.  Who wins this one is  a different matter - it should give us some pointers to the semi and final though.  Farloe Trent didn't trap as fast last time but his pace from the fin.line to the first bend was amazing.  I can't see him not being involved tonight and, if he cuts across first I feel he'll win too.  TSR is plotted in heat 1 and looks a good thing for a nice run as Kinsale steps out a bit from the box.  At likely cramped odds ( how did he get hammered and start favourite for the Derby from trap 2 by the way - with Vic in 1 and wanting out to lane 3 ) he isn't worth betting really.  Qualifying will do for him.
Locnamon Bridie - best.
Farloe Trent - next best.
Report ReimerpYsatnaf November 9, 2013 11:56 AM GMT
He was hammered off the boards for the Derby as the belief weas that Ballymac Vic who usually flies out from 1 would beat him at boxes, lead up and move off leaving Sugar Ray who was the only real railer in the final the whole inside to himself. As it happened Vic didn't smash and the 2 of them ruined each other the whole way up the run up.

Got my finger in enough pies antepost, so will just watch how it pans out, presuming there are pictures with Shelbourne again?

In Dublin, Razldazl Marilyn and Airlie Dazzle renew old rivalry. Still got a soft spot for Marilyn. Interesting bitches race. Sure Rockburst Beryl would be more than good enough, if fit enough and hope grand old servant Deanridge Viking moves well in the lucky last.

Good luck!

Busy night in Ireland. Final of the Gold Cup at Drumbo looks between re-named Aero Nemesis and rudely named Atitboy, now Graduation Day gone. Atitboy should be okay as long as theyre not line abreast at the bend! Laugh.

This Roxholme Bully is a Rolls Royce - will take some beating in this.  Jaytee ran a blinder, it goes without saying and while SkyFar was well behind Bully I was impressed how it ran past General Wolf on the run in.  Bridie is a favourite of mine and she is running out of her skin.  Tough, tough semis now.

Kinsale steps out from 1 so TSR faces Irish Derby Final syndrome - these two might cancel each other out going down and round 1 and 2.  Bridie still has a great chance. She is quick, game and stays every inch of this trip. If Hellcat can reproduce in his semi then we will be in for some final.  Bully, Bridie, SkyFar for me - the other semi not so clear.

Report LoyalHoncho November 11, 2013 1:28 PM GMT
TSR is a big favourite of mine.  He has a chance of course but check Kinsale on the vids and you'll see what I mean. Their sectionals are similar and I see rub, rub, rub, crunch, all the way down and round the first/second. TSR throws in the occasional fast sectional/ping but will need to here in my view.  To my mind if three, four and six steal a march on him - and that is likely - he'll do very well to recover.

Didn't know you were a "Bridie" R.  She is good enough to overcome that in my view.  Her sectionals are the equal of any on show here and her desire is enough to see her track Bully around. The ground she made up to qualify, before last, was simply magical. Onwards and upwards! lol.

Have tidies this up a bit and have done the second semi now.

Race 2 2013 Kerry Agribusiness Irish St Leger - 1 st Semi-Final 09:55 Approx. (550 Yds. Flat)  (Race Grade : AA0)
    Trap                         Greyhound
Tp 1 HAWAII KINSALE, from 1, steps out middle track at lid rise.  If  Tp 2  TYRUR SUGAR RAY traps in his usual, moderate fashion then they may hamper each other all the way up to and around the bend. Bad news for both!    Tp 3  ROXHOLME BULLY  is running like a smoothly tuned and programmed  Rolls Royce and has coasted home the last twice after slick starts – he has to be fancied to do the same again here. Tp 4  LOCNAMON BRIDIE  is running so well, she could easily match strides with Bully all the way around.  She stays better than him for me.  Tp 5 HOT PURSUIT  appears to have lost his early zip and looks out of it from this slot. Tp 6  SKYWALKER F’LOE  starts moderately, wides, then runs up the back straight with purpose and  finishes well.  More of.the same from him I think.
SUMMARY:  I think that Locnamon Bridie is in the form of her life (and it’s been some life) and can win this – certainly qualify.  There won’t be much in it at the line between her and Roxholme Bully, whose stamina will be put to the test here I think.   .  SkyFar’s wide pitch and fine stamina can get him to the Final in third.  I hate deserting TSR, and may live to look silly and regret it, but he is up against it and, by the time he gets a run, the others may be too far away.  4  3  6

Race 3 2013 Kerry Agribusiness Irish St Leger - 2nd Semi-Final 10:10 Approx. (550 Yds. Flat)  (Race Grade : AA0)
    Trap                         Greyhound
Tp 1  GENERAL WOLF  Has done really well to get here, shouldering his way into a rails pitch, round the bend, when necessary.  This is tougher but the rails is a huge plus for him. Tp 2  CASHEN COCOA Similar to Wolf, has done well so far and survived a bump at 1 last time to run on and make the three.  Tp 3  STONE BOY KING His back straight power has got him here.  He shares similar sectionals with the two inside and clearing them to secure a run is tough.  Tp 4  JAYTEE HELLCAT A sensational run last time gives him an aura of invincibility but, he was gifted a clean and clear run around 1st and 2nd bends in that weaker , 5 dog race and it will be very, very tough to secure such a run here.  I see him ( unfortunately ) encountering big trouble round 1 and 2 here, and recovering from it in this field will be some feat.  Both five and six will cut across and 1, 2 and 3 will not be giving way inside.  Unless he really puts in a big ping, for me, he could go out, let alone win, and I’ll be checking the win and place lay odds closely come race time. Tp 5  ROCKVIEW TURBO Has run brilliantly so far, with very good early pace allied to great staying power – not too many withstand a TSR charge on the run in!  Needs to continue the early stuff with speedy Trent outside him.  If he doesn’t beat him down then trouble looms for him too, sadly. Tp 6  FARLOE TRENT  Was exposed a little by Jaytee last time but there is nothing inconsistent about his fine early pace and a repro. of that and his usual cut across stuff at the bend, makes him very likely to upset the others inside and puts him right in the frame.
SUMMARY:  I think Farloe Trent will go clear and reap the benefit of first bend trouble in and behind.  Rockview Turbo and Jaytee Hellcat to recover best and make the frame.  If the race was in a straight line I’d go for Hellcat, but, it isn’t.  His prodigious pace should however see him chase into the third, and final qualifying spot.   6  5  4

Got two in each semi at big prices but the more I look at it, the more i think may not even get a finalist!

First semi got Locnamon Bridie and Hot Pursuit but think Roxholme Bully will race away and cant see Tyrur Sugar Ray out of the frame. That just leaves Bridie, granted a run, to hopefully hold Skywalker Farloe, as Hot Pursuit has a mountain to climb against this standard of opposition.

Second semi got Farloe Trent and Cashen Cocoa but they will not be able to compete with Jaytee Hellcat, if he storms round like last week. Think Rockview Turbo will lead though and could be a ding-dong tussle between him and Hellcat. That would leave just one qualifying spot left and hoping Trent can keep breaking better than ever and get the better of General Wolf. Cashen Cocoa has done well to get this far really and needs lots of luck.

My greyhound friend is going to Waterford for the final of the Select Stakes, where I got 8/1 Farloe Calvin. Could be nip and tuck between him and All About Ya throughout, with Vanrooney likely to arrive on the scene too late

TSR  Dream draw and will never ( getting on a bit ) get a better chance of classic silverware.  Surprisingly though, after getting a rails run, made absolutely no impression on the run in last night. GWolf  Strong as an ox, wants the paint and has presence.  Not out of the question that he leads into the 1st.   Bridie  In brilliant, scorching-hot form.  Who would ever have forecast that she would have so comprehensively outstayed Skyfar the way she did?  If she beats the inside two down - and she can - she's a sure winner for me. Even if she doesn't she can win.  Turbo  Steps out and veers across into the six lane from this box - tough on the other two then.  Hellcat  Got another dream run inside and round the 1st last night when behind a wall of dogs.  Brilliant pace though and can win with a clear, but, can he win without one, because he's not getting one here?  Skyfar  Significantly bet in the norning we found out why when he bulleted out and, unusually, led into the back straight.  Another like that and he can win too.  Bridie to beat Skyfar and Hellcat for me.

I go to limk more than any other track, the 1st bend has been an issue here for as long as the track is open. They thought they had fixed it but its as bad a ever, unreal amount of dogs injured and ko'd at it on a regular basis, way more than any other track

Ok definite, thanks for that.  I wasn't aware that some races were allowed to start early  It doesn't make any sense to me that a fifteen minute "advance off" is applied but anyway, here is the 365 reply.

I am contacting you regarding the Limerick racing that you raised a query for yesterday.

I am able to confirm that Greyhound racing at Limerick is always set to close 15 minutes prior to the off at a Trading Decision, this is due to the lack of pictures we have for Limerick. Betting closed on this race 20.55 and prices were available up to this point.

I hope this information helps and if you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact me.

There was a very unfortunate outcome to the first semi-final of the Kerry Agribusiness Irish St Leger at Limerick on Saturday night when the long-odds favourite Roxholme Bully pulled up with a broken front leg on the first bend.

In contrast it was a doubly satisfying session for trainer Paul Hennessy who turned out both heat winners in Locnamon Bridie and Jaytee Hellcat.

In the first heat Roxholme Bully went to traps the favourite but he missed his normal fast start and it was Skywalker Farloe that led up on the outside. Roxholme moved up fast to challenge into the bend but then pulled up in distress on the corner and Skywalker now led from Locnamon Bridie with Tyrur Sugar Ray some lengths back in third.

Skywalker drifted wide off the final bend and the challenging Locnamon Bridie (Royal Impact/ Locnamon Nell) took full advantage as she got up to win by three parts of a length from Skywalker Farloe in 29.62 with Tyrur Sugar Ray some four lengths back in third.

The second semi also had its incidents as both Cashen Cocoa and Stone Boy King hit the ground on the opening bend. General Wolf led up but Jaytee Hellcat moved second between the opening bends.

Jaytee Hellcat (Ace Hi Rumble/ Droopys Geneva) moved up in gear down the far side and this brilliant John Turner owned tracker hit the front between the final two bends. From here Jaytee accelerated clear and the track record holder won by four lengths from General Wolf in 29.82 with Rockview Turbo some three and a half lengths third.

Dunno what to make of the final, i thought Sugar Ray has had too much racing this year heading into the comp and he has not looked anywhere near his best the last 2 weeks, was up the arse of Rockview Turbo on the 2nd last week and couldn't pick him up and never closed at all on Bridie or Farloe Saturday night, drawn where he wants to be but has to run an awful lot better.
General Wolf was the culprit of all the trouble in the 2nd heat imo and you'd wonder how he is going to take that bend again next week, he needs a flier and trouble behind.
Bridie is running out of her nut again, really is a brilliant bitch and hopefully she can clear Wolf up as otherwise it's hold your breath on the corner, she broke well in the semi but hardly flew to the corner and was beat up by both Bully [who didn't come away] and Farloe, if she can clear the insdie to the corner she will win.
Rockview Turbo has a chance if getting a flier and if he goes around he will be hard beat, i would not be surprised to see him lead the outside up anyway.
Jaytee Hellcat was absolutely poxed Saturday night, how he avoided the first bend melee when in an awful position going into it i will never know but once doing so he was always gonna run down Wolf. I'm not really keen on his draw in the final either but obviously if he turns the opening bends untouched he should not be far away.
Skywalker Farloe was a massive disappointment to me, came away and led into the back, now i am a huge Locnamon Bridie fan but i still thought Skywalker Farloe should have been winning from where he was. If he can lead the ouside again he has a massive chance.

Tyrur Sugar Ray 9/2
General Wolf 14/1
Locnamon Bridie 7/2
Rockview Turbo (m) 13/2
Jaytee Hellcat (m) 7/2
Skywalker Farloe (w) 9/2

100%

yep i really think the final is that open

It would be marvellous if Sugar Ray could cap a great career by winning this.
His first litter of pups are now 15 months old and will be racing next year.

Obviously want Bridie but think Turbo could go well at a decent price. Forget semi where no run early. If away in best style, could go close. After all, already beaten Hellcat and Sugar Ray in this competition

I'm with you irish.  I love TSR and if Bridie loses then I hope it is to him.  As you say, it is going to be interesting to see his pups next year ( hopefully we do ).  For me, there is nothing to beat dogs like him, and Razldazl George, and even Bridie, who simply never know when they are beat.  It is this one quality, more than any other for me that, you want to see in a dog, and by extension, in a sire or brood.  All of the very good dogs have it I know, but some just have a wee bit more than others, and stand out because of it.  Nice write up R. You are very lucky,.............having Shelbourne as your home track!  Must be magic to watch these classy dogs every week.

I notice that Charlie Lister got a fine run out of Jan '12, Ballymac Budget at Cov tonight.  Has Liam Dowling farmed it out to him for an English campaign or, has he sold it on?

Bridie and Turbo win equal amounts now. Anything else, wipe-out!

Wonder if we will be able to bet on other Limerick races? Wouldn't mind having a bob or two on dogs like Knockglass Billy, Cashen Cocoa, Riptide Movement/Priceless Bolt and Skywalker Legend Plain

Locnamon Bridie always led 29.34, easily beat Tyrur Sugar Ray. Not a big bet at 33/1 start but still a decent profit
