Well done premiere fantasy
Excellent preview, and Holborne very impressive. good luck in the final! |
|
By:
big disapointment was droopys jet, after a good trial he just didnt sparkle. also with the break north bound got thought he should have stayed on better, although he could have needed the run.there could be some improvement from a few as a run around cork is a must

well done 4 what?? ain't won nowt yet!!
did ya see that early pace from Catchme though - fkin unreal ![]() |
|
By:
Taxi for Bet365 they have priced up the outright without the 8 Dog's who finished fourth last night.
|
|
By:
Told them. They've updated now

what tw@t made the draw

^ Brian Collins did awful draw for Catchme.
|
|
By:
well that's Brian Collins off the buy a drink list

Whoever has revised the market for 365 with only 36 dogs is obviously not even looking at the draw when formulating prices which is, quite frankly, staggering.
Gives you an idea where greyhound racing stands in the grand scheme of things. |

I hate to burst a few bubbles, including my own, but Holborn Catchme is now a non-runner form the Laurels
|
|
By:
ffsthought 20s was bloody massive - well that's my Laurels finished, no interest now and already booked a holiday for final week |
|
By:
fkin amount of money i've done on ante post bets that have got injured during comps this year is scary

Ditto.... I fear for Droopys Jet now. He's also carrying my cash. Im expecting him to grab the competition by the scruff of the neck this weekend. Couldn't have hand picked a better draw
|
|
By:
he ran like a drain in round 1 imo - but as you say could not have picked a better draw so really ought to up it this week
|
|
By:
just chucked this Saturday's card in the bin - good luck 4 the rest of the comp |

Down to 48 now, with just the 3 from each heat to qualify, from hereon in. IMHO there is still a lot of dogs just running to make up the numbers, with little chance of outright success. Just a handful that look strong probabilities, and still a chance that there will be a weak qt.,final, for the lucky one, as there is bound to be a few going through that hold little interest re-outright bet.
Last years winner has his chance, though he has had plenty runs lately and as everyone knows barely gets the 525, but is still capable of a quick time. Droopy's Jet is a bookies dog, and holds little interest for me as I felt he was too easily brushed aside in Wimbledon and Shel PK., but this is weaker so has his chance. I thought the O"Donnell kennel would have stronger chance but not impressed so far by their runners. Owen McKenna has a good record here, (his father Ger won it more often than not), but Farloe Calvin must do much more to give Owen another Laurels. There is quite a few dogs then that hold equal chances. But the Glenanore dog must have a decent shout at it, after his outstanding run in the 1st round.Though again he's an inside runner and like so many in this stake will be looking for the rails. For me the forgotten dog in the stake has to be North Bound. Impressive enough in his first round victory. He is one of 4 wide seeds left and looks short odds to qualify from his heat next Sat. This is a really fast dog, and 'Curaheen' could suit him, as its a wide galloping track, and bar interference it will give him a chance to show his undoubted pace. Almost certain to be in T^ his favourite trap, and at 16s with powers he looks too big and is worth a second look. |

Nicken ripper 200/1 and burgess rumble 66/1 with PADDY POWER are not bad e/w bets for small money, both ran well on sat night, i think Burgess rumble ran the 3rd fastest run so my score e/w is a fair bet....also north bound, droopys jet and borna have been on the go against top class dogs for a while now so must be on the tired side by now, it could be an outsiders laurels this year.

Holycross Gerry and Ballyhill Sub out as well now - amount of NRs during comps over here now is gone mental, never known a year like it

Might have had Glenanore Dancer or Borna Gem my main bet, instead of withdrawn Ballyhill Sub but the word was dogs coming off the back of long Derby campaigns jaded. Some superb runs last night though, not only Glenanore but as Poorpup says Droopys Jet and defending champion Knockglass Billy whoosh, too. Why didnt he do that Derby night? Would have paid the expenses. Thought Skywalker Jet ran well for a long way, also. Nearly took the advise of the poster who said 66/1 Burgess Rumble, each-way. All things being equal, dont think he can win but place possibilities.

By:
i notice that boyles dont have borna gem in there betting, anyone hear anything/ or are boyles fcuking up again.

Next to nothing written about the Laurels recently. Thought there might have been a comment or two about a couple of intriguing match-ups in the quarter-finals. Think PF rightly upset about too many withdrawn dogs, maybe that's why quiet re-the very good, current Irish competitions.
Anyway, Glenanore Dancer tackles Borna Gem and it's Droopys Jet versus Knockglass Billy. Never been to Cork but those two races alone would be worth going a long way to see. Elsewhere in the Emerald Isle, think i'm buying money with the Tyrur Sugar Ray (600yds final Shelbourne) and Rockburst Pearl (Munster Oaks Waterford) double. Good luck! |

WOOD many moons ago i was on my way to the greyhound stadium in Cork via taxi, i told the driver were i was heading and he nonchalantly turned to me and said ; you mean the 60min cleaners boy,
i only have burgess rumble and kilgreany tomson e/w at big prices left so i need a bit of luck m8.P.F. has good reason to be pissed of with the laurels , but like the good guy that he is HE SHALL RETURN. |

think Mistaken @ 14s and North Bound @ 16s are still overpriced
Mistaken is going up to the corner mental well and his sectionals around Curraheen are stunning, if he keeps coming away as he has he will take some leading and that's half the battle down there imo, i also think they've drawn a great heat as Mistaken really should be leading up with a decent start. North Bound going against everything i usually apply to Curraheen but he is near enough the same price he started pre comp and now he is only 1 of 2 (w)s left and there is only 1 (m) left in the comp as well. The other (w) is Refuge Of Sinner who i think North Bound is better than to the corner so not worried about being drawn either side of him - North Bound does it right he will beat him up. Again he is in the same heat as Mistaken and i think both should be qualifing. Heat 2 i'd be worried for Droopys Jet, i don't think he is showing that much up around Curraheen and with Knockglass Billy on his outside i think he could be in a bit of bother. |

It ain't a joke is it that's the final six
there run 4 hard races to be there lassa expedition got rating of 14 when I back it SUNDERLAND one night ! as every chance winning the laurels ![]() |

Having mixed fortunes antepost. Did well with a couple at Newcastle but not so well at Harolds Cross and Crayford. Now 20/1 Glenanore Dancer got to be quite confident. Not been coming away like early rounds, but if so wins pulling a cart, imo. Even allowing for average break, should still come through, granted modicum of luck, after very unlucky second to Lassa Expedition in semis. Danger: Cathys Clown, might have a saver
|
|
By:
i had burgess rumble e/w at 66/1 i thought he looked good for the final, seems like a great result for the bookies .

You was unlucky Frank. Did have Ballymac Sub and Locnamon Bridie to win a bit more than Glenanore, before both withdrawn but would still be very happy to collect this "nice" divi
