I TAKE IT GEM GOING TO BE A NON-RUNNER WITH THAT DRAW

|
By:
Looking forward to the betting - Would fancy Hot Pursuit to go far so the bigger price, the better
![]() |
|
By:
As known for, i dont think the draw is the most important thing, Fatty, rather relying on the ability of a dog to offset poor draws with a fast start on most occasions, so think Borna Gem will be qualifying, anyway and better luck second round.
Think the hottest heat 11, where two of my leading fancies Knockglass Billy and Locnamon Bridie clash. Plenty of others in there too, so qualifying places could be at a premium. Thought Ballyhill Sub caught the eye Derby night and i'll be looking for a price him and obviously, Droopys Jet has a huge chance. As said, short-listed 8 and think i've got an interesting, huge outsider each-way. Just waiting for betting and best prices. Wont be as big bets like Pay Freeze and Lemon Pluto recently though |
|
By:
Have u ever watched cork
Woody ? Cos for a bang rails bitch in trap six is ****g night Mare ! she could clear ! But huge risk for such great Bitch ! sometimes not worth the risk when she be worth zonks when her racing over!! got three on short list Bypass blackie Wooie no shoes All about ay |
|
By:
Point taken, Fatty. Still think she would be very short to qualify from that heat, though.
Paddy Power done the betting, 6/1 Jet, fav. Thought he would be |
|
By:
De real mcoy is a hound i like at 50s,All about ya was one of much intertest but the feckers only 14/1
Droopys jet obvious. |

Isabels Boy N/R

By:
59 railers
2 middles 11 wides Borna Gem - 2/7 from trap 4, 0/4 trap 5, 0/1 trap 6 as well as she is running, and she is running out of her nut the draw is going to be absolutely crucial to her chances as you can put a line through at least half of the (m)s and (w)s what's taking the rest so long to go up?? already played anyway but will go in again if anyone goes up bigger |
|
By:
looks like bags racing is coming in december

365 priced-up. Got 4 big prices now and one enormous outsider but still waiting for more

All about ya 20/1
I thought the 14s go with power ! |

By:
nobody at all fancies what i've backed then
good, i like it that way!! ![]() |
|
By:
Not said what i'm going for yet!
. Re-Borna Gem, she might be 0/5 from the two outer traps, but she doesnt have to win Saturday, just qualify. Think it would be a brave man who says she's going to be eliminated. Still on my shortlist anyway but hoping to beat the 14/1. Think loads could go well at nice prices and going to ignore the top two, looking for better value elsewhere. Couple of others quite high in the betting i'm currently shying away from: Farloe Calvin and North Bound. Will just say, if you fancy All About Ya, Fatty, you must consider Brogan Stranger at an even bigger price, also. Virtually identical times round Cork but Brogan Stranger with the quicker split |

I'd defo want to take on all the dogs who got to the Derby semis or final. Traditionally, they have a bad record in this and each year we have a dog who did well in the Irish Derby being ridiculously short before being knocked out. On that reason alone, I'd want to avoid Gem. Locnamon Bridie might have a squeak and at 33's with Bet365, it ain't bad. But no doubt there will be plenty of value at 66/1 and bigger in this year's Laurels.
|
|
By:
Yep with the Laurels i always want to be against those who had tough Derby campaigns, anyway they are generally underpriced as well. Always look for a certain type of dog for Curraheen as well, the last 3 winners all fit the profile of dog i want to be with although i am tempted to chuck a few quid at one who would not fit that bill.

Main Bet
Holborn Catchme @ 20/1 - had a good cut at him, was really impressed with him 3 weeks back when he trialled around Shelbourne, on the same night Knockglass Billy trialled just b4 him and he flew around and people was saying how well he went but when Holborn Catchme went he was every bit as quick from traps to the 350y traps showing brilliant early. He then showed brilliant early in his race 2 weeks back on a horrible night when the track was running on the slow side. With that early pace i think he will really be suited to Curraheen and he goes into the comp a fresh dog [which i always like] and once trapping down there i think he will make them all go. Other Bets Jacksallstar @ 25/1 - has massive pace but is a bit nuts, prepared to take a chance anyway as he is probably as fast as anything in it, can do it both ways and should be hard to get rid of if he keeps his mind on it Badminton Girl @ 33/1 - don't usually back (m)s or (w)s in this but if she can come away and go up like she does at SPK i would not be surprised to see her go well in the comp, again she is coming in lightly raced [only 1 since the Oaks final] and despite the tough first round heat i thought she could go well at a price |

3000 euros to the last remaining bitch in the competition.
Anyone seen any market for this? |
|
By:
surprised Spoils at least ain't up already
looking forward to this now, it's certainly more interesting than the SPK card |
|
By:
I'd be backing Mall Brandy at 7/2 before the 7/4 Tyrur Sugar Ray in the Mulvaney 600. Pity Paradise doesn't run.
|
|
By:
The price of holborn catchme did,nt last long P.F. [DOWN TO 16/1] ..Dont be to surprised about spoils m8 i had to wait 30mins[ my 2nd visit] to collect e900 on my bet on Slippy robert today, spoils are a shop i dont like going in to but you have to take value were you see it, thanks oddscheecker
..p.s maybe boyles will slip up on holborn,s price![]() |

Didnt want the prices to go so played 33/1 apiece each-way Ballyhill Sub and Locnamon Bridie tonight. Sub ran past beaten Knockglass Billy, only 10/1, on Derby final night behind flying Graduation Day but we all know Sub's really known for sprinting speed. Think he could go a long way. Noticed PF fancies Badminton Girl but she was beaten fair and square by same price Bridie in the Oaks and i prefer her, the like of Melodys Diamond, Borna Gem and Airforce Diva behind on that occasion. Here what's been said about racers with coming out of long-hard Derby campaign but smaller shots Borna Gem and Glenanore Dancer. Still got the huge outsder each-way in mind, but looking for better than 100/1
|
|
By:
Think Locnamon Bridie's a non runner
|
|
By:
Just my luck, PTGB.
Anyway, doesnt look like Spoils, Crooks or Billies are bothering, so had to have small go 100/1 Cashen Cocoa each-way, although wanted more. If you can believe the extremely slow going allowance, and Sheffield was like a bog, he's got a sub-29sec calc on his card which equates to Hather George class and ablity, so worth small stab he can reproduce something like that |

so much for the heat of death

Yes It is the Heat of death no More Chris.
Can see a lot of short Priced dog's tonight Cork bookies are not Renowned for value, can we have a loan of Ted Hegarty for 5 weeks please? |
|
By:
i'm sure Ted will be betting on the heats for us up here
has done in previous years anywaylooks a real good comp - as always |
|
By:
curraheen bookies a close 2nd to limerik on the value, pity there is no high streets chalking up
|
|
By:
Why couldnt Knockglass Billy do that Derby night? Having said that still dont think he'd have beaten Graduation Day with the break he got.
Very pleased with Glenanore Dancer but only a small bet coz told dogs that went a long way in Derby tired. Hope it's first 4 qualify? Got Sub and Gem in that position, but deffo got Cocoa through |
|
By:
first 4
|
|
By:
Cool, cheers Mesi. Obviously, Sub and Gem can do much better. Even accounting for the wide draw, thought Gem rather disappointing. Not away well and little early pace, stark contrast to Derby night. Still hopeful about Sub. Broke well enough but squeezed for room at bend
