started the thread from a layers point of view, the sooner the better. I had asked for it to be up along side the finals market but told me the earliest was the following day.
![]() personally think its much easier now to pick 20 losers than 1 winner and then you possibly have the chance that a week before only then do betfair add the winner. happy the pf...lanza retirement fund started early this yr. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

SCHOLAR’S EARLY LOOK AT WIMBLEDON
12/09/2013 Barefoot Scholar, which has had two hugely impressive runs at Kilkenny, will have a trial at Wimbledon tonight in preparation for next year’s English Derby. |
|
By:
Need to lay off the 2014 Derby antepost until much nearer the time. Literally lost Alien Planet and Pinpoint Maxi's racing career looks over already

Had a bet, 80/1 Pay Freeze with 'Crooks. Won 9 out of 10 culminating in Steel City Cup (4.19, qa al ld, 28.77). Compares well with Ballymac Eske (4.24, qa sn clr, 28.74 - we all know he flies when leading) and Boher Paddy (4.26, ep sn clr, 28.74 - and we all saw what he can do when beating Razldazl Jayfkay at Wimbo that night.) All times calc. Although yet to race away from Sheffield, think Pay Freeze's price warrants the risk he'll run the Plough Lane circuit well enough.
Two other little interests at 150/1 apiece, Shaneboys Alley and Spencer |

Pay freeze went round Newcastle Friday night in 29-24
|
|
By:
29.24 aint owt special round there if a solo on normal going
be interesting to see how the dog gets on in races away from shef + more importantly how he can handle a moderate break when up against better dogs couldn't have any dog on my mind for the derby at this time of year tbh, too much W to go under the B between now and next spring, layers paradise |

Paul Hennessy gave his flying youngster Barefoot Scholar another spin around Wimbledon at the weekend and a 28.48 clock was very impressive. Hennessy is giving the dog plenty of experience of the Wimbledon circuit in preparation for next year’s Derby and said after the weekend trial that “He will now run in a Puppy Open on Saturday week at Wimbledon”. |

fack me stan james have a dog an absolutely mental price for this [as long as it's ran at a track with a decent run up] - pity i've no way off getting more than 10 pence on

I see Barefoot Scholar was beaten in his puppy open at Wimbledon, now out of puppy stage wondered whether anyone knows where he will be running next.
|
|
By:
no idea? they have now opened the National Puppy Stake to Nov whelps but that's still no good to him, would he aim him at the Leger around Limerick after only 3 races? other than that i can only see him being put away for the winter as can't see how he'd get a run on the Night Of Stars on what he has done to date
|
|
By:
Thanks PF would be good if they put him away for the winter.
Think on his K/k form he could be a live contender for the Derby. Should I back him at 33/1? Your view appreciated as always. |
|
By:
I can't answer tbh, i ain't even looked at his Kilkenny runs as he ain't been to Sehlbourne yet
At least you know what the long term plan if for the dog so he will be aimed at it once fit and well |

a few new dogs been added lately.
Further requests should be sent to info@betfair.com with the subject ''2014 english greyhound derby additional runners request'' |

Not gloating, far from it - I very much regret the injury to the dog and also your losses ( and hope you make them up, as I am sure you will ) but this is the type of incident which is why I NEVER bet ante-post. The first rule of ante-post is to be sure you run, for me anyway, and that can never be totally assured, even the day before the first round. I bet "post" post now, on these five, six round events. I survey the quality of the entries pre-comp., watch the first and second rounds with a view to picking out likely winners and those who run the track well, and are themselves running well, and who may even improve, and who look to be really up for it. I find it much more profitable. Good luck all.

Thanks Honcho but afraid i'm a lost cause.
Have you done a Night Of Stars assessment? If so, would look forward to an e-mail. Good luck! |

New Year, new hopes.
Derby book got in descending order of payout: 80/1 Pay Freeze 66/1 Ballymac Eske 100/1 Droopys Jet 84/1 Ballymac Vic. Know some injured and possibly retired but the prize-money would bring Joe Bugner back. Besides, with the Irish, some Tyrur dogs made more comebacks than the Karate Kid! .Looking to add 100/1 Exocet and 250/1 Kereight King. Could be worth the risks at the prices. Sure all trainers will want to get their dogs geared up for it, if possible. Good luck! |

By:
Agree 100% Loyal Honcho , this is Woodys third year of trying to get the winner , pinsticking his hopes on dogs he doesn't even know if they will take part. Last year was classic , he hadn't even heard of the eventual winner a month before the race ! In support of your theory here are the antepost best prices at the turn of the year , I cant see the apathistical choice "A N Other" which imho should be also listed
