Longwood Warrior turned his head several times on Farloe Iceman run-in but official comment only said eased. Screen Critic led fourth bend and kept on. Calico Classic didnt look right.

Similar story in heat 2 with Gemstone Jack showing aggresion towards Ardkill Star close home but no mention of it in the official comment. Jolly Bullseye only average away here but swept to the front. Any Dak faded out of a qualifying place.

Farloe Warhawk fell out and Fire Height Spec was frantic in the boxes, both ran no kind of race. Draper only got his Ballyamc Arkle through in second to big outsider Tyrur Andy, so must be very disappointed.

Longwood Fantasy back to his best with a fastest of all, 28.34. Airlie Impact the disappointment. Showed nothing throughout.

Only caught the finish of heat 5 but something strange seemed to be happening with Taranis Rex, behind Slippery Patch. Sharies Miller out also.

In the final heat, looked bad for Castlebride Dan but Shaneboy Alley made no mistake.

Gotta be happy enough with that, my two antepost Jolly Bullseye and Longwood Bound through. Just glad didnt back Warhawk. I could see that on the drift for the Derby now

MATT CHAPMAN is taking over commentary duties from Errol Blyth for the Sky Sports broadcast at Swindon on Wednesday. Blyth, a Wealdstone FC fanatic, is ‘cup-tied’ as he will be cheering on his team in a play-off semi-final.

George Irvine, MD SIS Betting which produces the show, said yesterday: “Errol is rarely missing but he can’t do this slot, so we decided to ask Matt Chapman to cover for him. Matt’s enthusiasm always shines through and he has plenty of experience.”

Chapman, an At The Races presenter, has in the past been MC at the Derby and commentated on greyhounds for Coral. He is known for his Yeeehaaa catchphrase.

On Twitter yesterday he said the Swindon booking was an honour, that greyhounds make great athletes and it is “such an exciting sport . . . hopefully I can show that to the masses.”

nearly the dream arc, but been a cracker best one i have ever had

16's tyrur andy first round and 400-1 trio couple of times

adn both main AP's drawn ew part also winner @14s win only, fair play the winner has cat 1 gears but screen critic run gr8 think it will come for Kev

only downside tonight got some sawpit sensation ap for derby that looks dead lol
