Toomaline Jack was so nearly a legend, he sadly had his foibles. On a going day he would be my choice in that field.
Toomaline Jack had pace that only a superscrew can have, 28.25 and 28.96 over hurdles with an extra gear probably available if hed wanted ......only 4 offspring too :(
Absolutely heartbreaking what happened to Jack in the National final. I saw him in every heat of the Derby as well, IF only he had his head organised he would have been talked of in the same breath as Some Picture and I can't give any higher praise than comparing him to S.P.
I'll add another, Boher Legend. Disqualified during the Scottish Derby, think it was, but would beat most of them on his day, imo
