What constitutes a "good lay price"?Surelly selections can only be made on value purposes or you will be doomed to fail?

Good luck with your Bismarck's Toto. I might have a while at Vue today. Would be my first ever BAGS meeting there. Very nice day here in Manchester, sun's out at the moment anyway!

All set. Tight all-graded card as you would expect. Picked half a dozen out just for a bit of fun. Very speculative tricasts on other races, just for an interest. Plan to stay to see the A1 at 5.33, then go, but could be stuck in traffic.

Reckon i'll need a bit of luck but here goes:
2.18 Jorgon Di
2.57 Jorjen Jak
3.17 Tudor Knight
3.38 Golden Orchid (best bet)
4.37 Taylors Sea
5.33 Villiers End

Spare a thought for grand old favourite Swords Tosh in the 3.17. The Aug '07 whelp is running 125th race, that i'm aware of. Hope for a good run.

Good luck anyone playing at the meeting!

What really worries me about your selections toto is that they seem to finish closer to the front than the back, perhaps you would be kind enough to explain how you came up with them ?

11:34 HGreen (5) Wiggies Lad  3rd 5-1
12:27 Newc (2) Killacolla Ka Ka  3rd 2-1 fav
14:57 BVue (5) Woodsgift Factor  Won 11-4

What a lovely afternoon. Music on, sunroof open, window down and air-con on. Although i know they conflict, i'm a bit wild like that sometimes. Bright and extremely mild for time of year. Only counted 25 peeps there. The track had been watered. Vue undergoing painting and told new carpets going down, must say, not before time.

Got a winner 3.3 Betfair sp, non runner and 2 tricasts but wrong order. That'll teach me, should play all-ways combinations. The best bet broke well, but got done at the bend. Found himself last but running on well, nearly got second. Noticed loose muzzle on T2 dog in the 4.37 and had to tell parader. Went home after that, so just took in 8 races.

Irish is probably gushing his usual sh*t but in reality, deposited 12 quid total backing sp on here and after deduction, still have £10.37 credit now, dont think i used the full £12, so an afternoon out for £1.63, plus coppers on the tricasts, which would have paid really well.

Would go again, on a nice day Happy

How did you do Toto? Think Woodsgift Factor won and Bourne A Legend was beaten in a very tight photo. Dunno about Tyrur Hayes?

well irishone, i am picking my dogs in a very simple way, using racing post stats. to be honest, i've had far better results than this. I really want to show that i have a way of picking losing dogs. If results prove me wrong, I will be very ashamed :)
woodmanchester did you have a good day? i had 4 winners and 1 loser ...

Toto, there would be no need to be ashamed. I'm doing a bad enough job for both of us. Post away and good luck!

Had a nice day thanks. The bar-person was quite friendly and kept me in cuppas and it was nice to see a couple of bookies i know, plus a trainer of a dog i used to own, Clodeen Fox. Reached A1 and minor open class. Still have the trophy he won and the photo of the presentation hanging on the living room wall. Greenpark Fox-Clodeen Rosie, a nippy dog who always ran his heart out. Went to a good home. Wonder how he's doing now but that was 1994. So, here's your starter for ten: name the trainer? I'll give you a clue, he trained the Manx dogs, like open marathon racers Marajax and Sky. Anyone know or any guesses?

I'm not trying to have a go but how can you put up a list of dogs to lay when you have no prices? Fair enough if you put your tissue up and the prices you are willing to lay at but to me it seems bizarre to just name a load of dogs to lay, surely it is all price dependent.
By:

yep really cant understand it every race i play is price dependent, the amount of times ive laid my best bet of the day

guys, I know its price dependent, but I pick my dogs in the morning and i don't really know what the odds will be. I am just putting my selections... I will try to get the prices(just before off time) from Fracsoft and I will post them here :)
By:

When: 28 Feb 13 13:59
toto sounds to me like you need a bot like betbotpro or something like that where you can make your selections and insert a maximum lay price and if it is bigger the bot wont lay it and if it isnt it will. Also enter stake and basically any system you want.Used to use it and it was ideal for the above scenario.
By:
irishone
When: 28 Feb 13 16:25
toto ... so you are not selecting on price so are you selecting on times, traps, breeding, trainers or wha ?
there are successful systems on laying greyhounds i am sure, but are you juts guessing ?
By:
toto87
When: 28 Feb 13 16:57
irishone, its a mixture of time, traps and the specific dogs. I can't say the exact way, but believe me mate I am not guessing.
ha I am sure I will pick more losers, if i start guessing.

Husky wolf's victory at 5-1 sp would have wiped out all your profit for the week, it was at least 8's on here and you still have one to go.
By:

Toto's titbits: 3rd, 4th, 1st 5/1, 4th, 5th, DNF, with the 5.56 to come. You would expect roughly one winner out of six in tightly graded BAGS racing really
By:
irishone
When: 28 Feb 13 17:31
he needs 5 out of 6 to beat a dice woody Laugh
he can only lay on the exchanges and at the prices he has at sp today
(three x 5-1, 1 x 7-1)  he would be getting hammered laying
any of those that won at the death on the b f prices .
Toto .... Sorry but if you started June last year , why start posting now ?
By:

irishone, i started betting on dogs in june,2012. since then i have been trying to come up with a way of choosing selections. Now, i feel like i have come up with a way of picking dogs and that is the reason i am posting. I still think that if i pick dogs for more than 20 days and I filter the ones with the best prices, at the end I will be sitting on a small profit(depending on the results) :)

Toto87 my last couple of questions for you, thats all !

how much (roughly) will you be laying these selections for today ? tenners, scores, niftys, tons ?

..and if you feel you have come up with a successful way of choosing selections, why come on here and present them to the world at large ?
By:
toto87
When: 01 Mar 13 11:30
the max lay amount will be 2 pounds. I will use a laying staking plan as well. Firstly, I will need to build up at least 300 400 selections, filter the best prices and check the results. I will present my selection for a month here, because i want everyone to see that! After a month, i will stop and I won't be bothering you at all :)
