Probably something to do with the previous owners and the history involved. I'm sure Harry is working on it though!

deffo needs market on here
wud be playing if there was a market what sort of sp percentages are returned at cov or is that a silly ? |
By:
i believe the problem is the feed which will not run on betfair presume it is ahead of their computers
By:
At the moment Coventry is not eligible to receive grants from the fund, into which Betfair pay a percentage of turnover. Unless Betfair paid something directly to the track, Coventry wouldn't want markets to be carried on here.

Ian are you saying Coventry dont get added prizemoney(added prizemoney comes from levy)? And if so what possible reason could the BGRF give for not giving Coventry it when every other track recieves it?
Or is it just improvement grants your talking about which imo no tracks should get anyway? |
By:
how is the levy divided up?
By:
cov must get some levy
By:
The link below should help beebs.Basically as far as im aware all the income is levy appart from a small amount of trainers fees and registration fees etc.
http://www.bgrf.org.uk/main-areas-of-expenditure-2009-2012/ Basically most goes to prizemoney, closelly followed by welfare and then a big step down to stadia grants and track safety and trainers assistance funds etc etc. Like i said if Coventry get BGRF added prizemoney then they are getting from the fund. However i noticed Ian did write "grants" which im not sure he/Coventry can expect any sympathy for, after all Harry is a big supporter of groups who are activelly trying to stop those grants??? |

shame its a great venue but tote betting not for me.cant see a relolution to this problem.
By:
harry iam sure you read the forum is their any light at the end of the tunnel.
By:
Agree Beebs.Until Harry drops his tote revolution ideas and starts to embrace an exchange or bookies it is doomed to fail.Feel abit guilty sitting ready to watch it without having a bet on it.
I love what he is trying to do but it just isnt viable.Punters need to be allowed to win but with the UK being so small even a universal tote system wouldnt work imo.The exchange model is the way to go but without greedy shareholders taking money from winners. |
By:
there are long term plans lads, do you think this is as far as he wants to get?
By:
So are you saying Czechbet that Coventry WILL eventually be on an exchange site at some point in the future based on any future "plans" you've heard about?
By:
Coventry doesn't get the BGRF added prize money at the moment. I'm not sure whether it gets the welfare payments though.
By:
the last cov mob cost the gb gb plenty

According to Scene,Coventry will be on RPGTV on wednesday nights shortly??????????????
By:
Oh i get it now. They will be eligable shortly but its because they are basically a new track there is a bedding in period. So its not a case of discrimination, its the same for all new tracks opening? If thats the case its not so bad then.
By:
yes Hove, heard the RPGTV thing aswell, fingers crossed
By:
betfair coverage + wednesday nights on RPGTV would be very good
tuesday and thursday 5 o'clock starts are no good for anyone, likewise tote betting, low deductions or otherwise |
By:
But will it be all graded or all opens on a Wed evening at Coventry on RPGTV?
Surely open racing would get received better? |
By:
sure it would but not always possible is it, also if you want a good graded strength makes sense to televise it more people be interested in owning a dog there then imo
By:
harry needs to sort out his racing days sofar he has had tues matinees thurs matinees fri evenings saturday mornings sat evenings sunday evenings
By:
good point czech i think open race cards on wednesday would deter graded owners
By:
perfect time to try stuff out whilst there are no major commitments to anyone yet
people on here must think he is right think **** |
By:
harry knows his plans must admit he has me baffled

if rpgtv is going to broadcast on sundays will sittingbourne be the other track....
By:
Doubt it , Winja, it's not likely to be a track being shown in the betting shop.
By:
think sunday might just be Coventry alone?
By:
are the shops open on a sunday night?
By:
yes they are
By:
yes for BEGS racing from sittingbourne and poole, horse racing from USA and of course the main reason FOBT'S
By:
Sittingbourne was once sponsored by Betfair and shown on the Eurosport channel on Sunday evenings. This was around 8 or 9 years ago.
By:
coventry on sundays is top top top news.
By:
I've tried to watch Sittingbourne in Hills Sunday night before, but not even a commentary. Dunno if its changed now?
