Retired to the breeding paddocks, so touted Juvenile tilt obvously off. Reckon some ante-post Derby tickets up in smoke also. If she's come in season, can undertand not wanting to supress but surely too young never to race again, considering her ability. Maybe she will return to the track after a litter? Brood bitches have returned to racing before

What a great bitch and a great story with them retiring her at the top,it cant be easy to take such a decision when you have a machine on the end of the lead, fair play to them for putting her first imo.

I see they are getting stick for the decision on Scene.

I don't take that much interest in breeding but do lightly raced bitches throw better? Razldazl Pearl, Talita Beauty, Maybe Baby, Forest Daisy, Dianas Ranger, Little Diamonduk even Hope's dam Droopys Darjina where all lightly raced [don't think any of them had 20 races].

Droopys Darjina in 2 littlers has thrown, Droopys Hope, Droopys Xavier, Droopys Casanova, Droopys Indi and Bush Whitney so i can see why they want to breed off her now.

Getting stick for retiring a bitch at the top unhurt in any way, really?! Takes all sorts i suppose...Crazy

Im not really into breeding either also PF, i did hear though that dessie loughrey refused to breed farloe verdict due to the number of runs she'd had, whether its true or not i dont know but its what i was told...

Droopys bolero another same type also pf,hardly raced yet throws machines.

Just something i've thought recently looking at how many runs a lot of the top brood bithces have seemed to have

Only guessing but dont think amount of racing or age affects the ability of pups thrown?
Report patrick starr February 22, 2013 11:06 AM GMT
same here woody,i know nothing about breeding in reality but if someone like dessie loughrey thinks theres something in it,that'd be more than good enough for me.

shame wont see her again but she aint anyones but the owners.

owners choice and their call. Personally I think it's crackers...what they want to do is breed a pup er as good as her or better....to race...chances are v v low pups will be good as her. If youve got a superstar why not race her..

Also Prem F I saw your comment about the ped line, and agree, however the dam to Ace Hi Rumble and College Causeway - both known as honest dogs, has thrown Aero Lillie and Bush Whitney....

As for breeding off bitches that have not run much, I think that's an old Irish folktale...I just looked up at random 3 US dogs...Kinloch Brae (dam 72 races) Flying Stanley (1 race) and Blazin Wildfire (90 races).. most of the yank very best dams do hard miles..and their distances are tougher/longer..

Think there get what 5-10k a pup or wait if there good get20k or more at 15 months
think its s no brainer
wouldn't win the derby IMO

Oaks winning bitches seem to have poor record with offspring, though I dont believe in that rubbish.

Shes going to Sparta Maestro (great dog but not proven)and some sisters proved quirky (Whitney/Lille)

So unproven maiden dam to an unproven sire...him from a so so damline...in today's market I'd think you'd be looking at maybe 1k per dog pup

Personally, thought she had a tremendous future ahead of her as a racer, even if not breaking bitches poor record of winning the Derby. Good luck to her and connections, anyway
