Every dog can be forgiven one bad run and Blonde Reagan was fantastic, prior to his flop in that Monmore final. He finished over a second slower than his heat romp. That couldnt have been his running, something obviously amiss. The intention is to get on at 5/1 before he trials at Romford, i believe Tuesday. Looks a good price to me for a TV Trophy and St Leger winner!

Sure Aero Rebel is only favourite coz of the question mark over Reagan.

Bubbly Swallow running really well but never been a proper fan of the bitch.

Think Express Trend will struggle to get the trip nowadays.

One i could give a squeak to is 12/1 Droopys Jessica, but may get bigger price nearer the time.

Expecting Ding Hero to be prominent for most of the way in his races but suspected stamina limitations over these 8 bends.

Giving a significant chance to Regency finalist 16/1 Swift Signal. Remains to be seen if he will handle Crayford but Hove form very good.

Ballyregan Bob Memorial winner Droopys Xavier would interest me at a big price, currently 20/1, but not sure if he will line up in this demanding 714m Category One, round such a tight track. Could do though with a £15k carrot dangling there

Just had a look. Possibly not withstanding Swallow's race, the semis seem very tight affairs to me. Perculiar Boherna Bridge (bumped first bend) still does quickest split and fastest time. Got a feeling some dogs will come forward

KING LAUCHIAN 25/1 I've allway liked this dog thought when it was doing fast sprints befor it started out I thought it was going to be a super star ! that never happend but going to give him a chance tomorrow
I thought he run the bends poor but still ran on ok if he took last weeks run onboard he be a runner!
Report woodmanchester February 9, 2013 6:26 AM GMT
Still finding the first semi hard. Everyone saying Oneco Cool nailed on to lead but must have a poor draw for a dog running the bends so wide and gingerly? Hopeful one of my antepost White Soks Roks/Droopys Xavier can get through, would prefer the former.

Saw 9/4 Boherna Bridge and 5/1 Ding Hero on RPGTV last night, joke. Had me laughing. Bridge needs to lead, imo and surely cant head Ding on overall form. Think Paulines getting a bit hit and miss at the start, so happy with a pop at 5/1 Ding.

Last semi, not a fan of Bubbly Swallow but this girl is on fire (Alicia Keys) and must be crying out to be backed at 8/11. Surely, will be much shorter.

Good luck!

Am i mad [most would say yes] but is Freedom Cache not massive @ 12s in the last heat??

He didn't trap in his heat and got held up plenty until he managed to get by Blonde Reagan into 2nd and i thought he ran well. He looks well drawn to me with Eden Rumble on his inside and being inside King Lauchlan and Crinkill Jewell, if he could trap level with them i think he can lead around the corner and if doing so he could go quite a way clear. Stating the obvious Bubbly Swallow will be tough to beat but i thought Freedom Cache did well to battle into 2nd in his heat and he is entitled to improve as he had changed kennel not long before the start of the comp. If he can come away i seriously think he will take a lot of beating.

They all want trap 6, 5 moves wide, 6 cuts in, 2 can dispute lead, red gets the run on rails, a mater of a bit of help up front and whoooooooosh.

may not win, but 14-1?! You sure?
Report Winja February 14, 2013 2:09 PM GMT
agree its the best draw for eden but cant lead xavier and will not get past on the rails which makes the task virtually impossible with stronger dogs better drawn staying equally as well or even better.......for eden to win 2 needs to miss it and paulines and soxs need to put each other out......the odds probably reflects the chances of that happening....
Report DONEMYLOT February 14, 2013 2:20 PM GMT
Of course cant lead Xavier, but Xavier dont win if it dont lead. Course he will have the rail to himself after the first 5 bends. And he has shown better pace, best of all in that HOve heat 515m. Cant lead of course, but the fact they will be jostling for position makes him a huge runner from 600m onwards. I totally disagree that he cant get past on the rail, he'll be the only one on it! And he came wide first round when needing to.

Anyway, its wrong price so stick my tongue out at you!

With respect Winja, i've been in the game a long time and marathon dogs have nearly always beaten each other for fun. It's the most unreliable betting medium, imo. Dont think its that natural to have a dog run over extreme distances. The winners of these races only usually win coz they are too slow. Right, that's opened up a can of worms! Laugh

Report Winja February 16, 2013 10:16 AM GMT

Well, let's not argue, rather converse. Not sure what i'm losing out on though if, from experience, i prefer to shy away from marathons. Had a few quid on Eden Rumble for the Golden Jacket, think the outsides could be the wrong way around as White Soks Roks ain't the widest of runners and if he doesn't manage to clear the 2 inside him there could be all sorts of bother. Droopys Xavier has an obvious chance as you'd expect him to lead the inside but i don't think Eden Rumble should be as big as he is.

In the Marathon i've played Ballymac Swift, she styed forever over here and was coming from well off the pace in the Hegarty Marathon (1,010y), she has shown she runs Crayford with her 23.59 380m trial and if she turns in front of Buglys Billie which i think she should she will take some beating.

Good luck Done. Disagree about Blonde Reagan though. If Ding leads him, still think he comes past to win. He's a TV Trophy winner over much further, dont forget, although true best when leading.

Bets:
Antepost 6/1 Blonde Reagan, savers 8/1 White Soks Roks, 25/1 Droopys Xavier.
