Bitches
Bansha Mo misses the Oaks for this, could be a shrewd move. Saver, Mutual Decision. Smart when fully fit.

Dogs
Convinced Eden Star best and fastest in competition. Hoping cobwebs blown away at Vue. Saver Lemon Pluto. Gained many admirers although Teejays Bluehawk and Islas Scolari havent exactly advertised the form.

Stayers
Left Blonde Reagan out of Leger. Wont be making the same mistake again. Saver, Ballyard Buddy may be a shade quirky but pacey when things click.

416
Loughteen Blanco. Very fast dog and trip should be okay. Saver, Ballymac Denis. Super old favourite, worthy of respect.

Good luck!

Bridge Honcho @ 7/1 in the dogs final looks big to me. He will have to come away better than yesterday but is well capable of doing so. If he can come away better or even just level with Bit View Micko he should get a nice run to the bend as he should have the beating of Micko to the corner. Of course if Eden Star hits the lids he will lead up and lead all but he has the pace of Newinn Rocket on his outside and there is pace inside too in Benkaat Blue. At 8/11 he is worth taking on in my opinion and Bridge Honcho looks the most likely to take advantage of problems for the fav as they will likely involve with Newinn Rocket or Benkaat Blue and @ 7/1 he looks value to me.

Played decision 9:2 mo was lucky she round round but not lucky when **** up might not clear decision and at the prices 9/2 a bet + the bitch in 5 looks to move across

benkeet got a great draw on paper but if I can recall never traps from red so think Eden hold rocket like he did lemon
thought bridge and bit view run well so to hard Eden breaks he wins

Think blanco needs a run up like the post befor why 416?

Blonde lead but will have crazy fast nut jobs to beat thought areo run well should of won as a great draw

Agree theyre taking a chance running Blanco over 416m but still really hope he wins at antepost 5/2. However, isnt 12/1 Dreams of Glory (each-way) the value in the race?

Originally said 5/2 Bansha the bet in the bitches but the goal-posts have been moved now with 365 going 4/6 Bansha and 9/2 Mutual. No way on God's Earth can there be that big a difference between them ability-wise, so jumped ships aiming for the much bigger win now

Farloe Elektra @ 14/1 in the stayers final looks too big to me, she didn't get to the front in the heats until about the 3rd to 4th bends and then got a bit of luck around the last bends to stay in front. However where she is drawn there must be a chance she can crack out and get to the lead early. It will be no problem leading Aero Rebel in 1 and it is good that she is drawn inside Airforce Harlem. If she can crack out and lead there must be a big chance she stays there, Blonde Reagan is best when in front, Ballyard Buddy doesn't want to pass at times, i don't think Airforce Harlem will come from behind her or Clerihan Gold and Aero Rebel ideally wants further.

PF, picked the dogs and wrote this post immediately after seeing draw, before any betting came out. When it did, thought the odds fair enough and stuck with the dogs, rather than changing my mind and going for something which may have been deemed slightly better value. Seems my  choices were justified looking at their prices in the respective finals?
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y December 7, 2012 3:26 PM GMT
I told you before just because they are shorter prices in finals does not necessarily mean they where value in the first place.

I was asking as you where having a go at Addy on your bags thread about saying he would back 3 dogs coupled at EVS if he made them a 4/7 shot.

Here you have backed the top 2 in the markets coupled at very short odds which is what you where saying you wouldn't do on the other thread.
Report woodmanchester December 7, 2012 3:38 PM GMT
Wasnt having a go at Addy. I said good luck to him. Everyone has their own way of betting. Maybe im too critical of people who play the numbers game to the extreme, imo. I know the dogs i picked may not all have been the very best value at the start, but i was pleased enough with their prices. In the end i just had very small savers on Pluto and Denis, strongly fancying the first choices which with success this afternoon, would be my biggest winning day of the year. I  follow certain dogs and could travel hundreds of miles just to see a few of them race. I'm in it for the excitement, not necessarily to make a profit all the time, but its nice when i win

What were the combined odds of 5/4 Bansha, 4/5 Reagan, 4/6 Eden and 6/4 Blanco all getting beat in the 4 high profile races yesterday afternoon? Some people would have lost substantial amounts of money and these results are precisely why i only usually have very small interests.

Is dog racing fixed?
Report Addy_D December 8, 2012 9:05 AM GMT
head in hands

bansha - market overeacted imo putting her odds on and you yourself highlighted last years very smart winner shouldnt have been 9/2 - fair to assume the market would ease bansha and support mutual decision, especially drawn inside, then?

reagan - trainer and owner said for months the dog is a different animal when leading. hard campaign lately and was perhaps due a missed break. i think there is very little between reagan and buddy and if buddy didnt have quirks i'd actually favour him slightly in a 2 dog race - one was 4/5 and the other 7/2 - even allowing for buddy not certain to get a clear run with not exceptional early pace, i still felt he was big at anything over 2/1 yesterday.

eden star - best dog in the race for sure, but we all know he needs to lead which he nearly always does. yesterday he had a dog on his outer that was going to look for the rails, look to take his ground and the ability to match him for early pace to the bend. the makeup of the race would have out me off at odds on, bridge honcho is class when on song and last week suggested he was about to find form again. bit view micko is running well so i wanted to be with the outside two. couldnt resist 20/1 graigues incase he somehow got a run. whilst i couldnt see it, i dont mind chancing an animal with good all round pace at that price.

blanco - the 416 trip at monmore is very rarely a punting proposition for me there, i'd be looking to take the short ones on at the best of times although i didnt play the race.

throw into the equation im a bit suspicious about punting short prices on the bags - a service provided for the bookmakers - and im not totally surprised a few got beat.

Greyhounds just seem to be such an unreliable betting medium. The times long odds on favs get turned over and nothing said. What would the horsey boys say if they lost their 10's of thousands on results like Frankel and Big Bucks getting beat?

None of those dogs yesterday should have been odds on and the reasons are outlined above by Addy.

Bansha Mo got led by Mutual Decision who is a brilliant bitch and would not get back ran by her.

Blonde Reagan missed it, he ran sheet but the trainer and owner have previously said he is a dog that has to lead.

Eden Star has been inconsistant at traps recently. He had a dog on his outside who traps well and moves rails which is what happened.

Loughteen Blanco missed it, i was surprised and thought the 6/4 yesterday was a fair price but that still only says he has a 40% chance of winning meaning he has a 60% chance of losing.

Typical response of a mug punter is it is never their fault when they lose, always an outside influence, dog/horse stopped etc.........
