IMO, some people giving money away with evs Smiler and 13/8 Maldini, they could never have been.
Negatives for Words and Fletch proved correct. Dont think Patriot will be 25/1 now, either ![]() |

Thanks Middleman, just antepost for me on Essex Vase though. Not like the real betters on the exchanges. If so, would have copped large with Smiler and Maldini. Still happy though. Will be even happier if the planes are flying to Dublin tomorrow morning!

Not necessarily value at the start but got 9/2 Smiler Jack about a 13/8 chance in the final. Bets like these just havent been winning for me this year though
|
|
By:
The prices in the final look wrong to me, and seem to be based on times only rather than the way the race will/may be run.. Well, actually think one of them is very wrong, making another look huge. Lets get on.
|
|
By:
How do you see the race unfolding then Donemylot?
|
|
By:
I see it unfolding after I've put my bet on! I'm doing a weather-watch too. I just think that x is overrated after certain things 'helped', and anyone with eyes saw that y was this and shouldnt be 'z'.
Tango Tango.Stop. Get the Jerries. Stop. |

well the prices are up so hope u get plenty on and gl

I cannot see why Maldini is trading as big as he is. Absolutely do not like Planning and think he is woefully short. He has made his races by an absolute ping and also has been helped by the going. Had miles on Maldini last time out and the runner-up lost an estimated 8 lengths in running after severe grief early. I expect the early moves to come from at least 3 of these, and cannot see Planning as good enough to get far away from them to win. Add Wallis' recent sickness and at sub 2-1 he can't be a bet, win or lose.
Obviously if Jack cracks game over, but it's no cert and I want that at 6-4. EArly around him and the worry I'd have is MO smashing and making it awkward for a few of these. He just kids in front and may hold them up long enough. I just thought from a draw that should keep him out of trouble, Maldini can certainly tuck himself out of trouble early and easily make up the 3-4 lengths he has to find on recent running. He does all his best in finals and I really cannot see how he isn't around 3-1. Simply, if anything other than Jack leads off the bend, I'd expect him to pick them up. Can't get enough on at 9-2 so had a bit there and at 4-1. Its just simply far too big for a dog with his CV. GL |

interesting to read DML thoughts. imo the class of the race is Jack and Maldini, but looking at the race make up with 5 bang railers and plenty of QAw's for all except Maldini, and with Simon out of 5 beating Jack from 3 to bend last time and this time right alongside him outside and heading rails I'm thinking the race may not be dis-similar to Coronation Cup Final in Jan when Rathglass Hero (@16/1) got clear and 4 of them were badly baulked or KO.. Not sure Smiler Jack would have won the Champion Stakes if he'd not been in T1 and Ko'd Be Real in T3, and must be reasonable chance Brave the Times will be up inside Jack at the bend. DML comment re kennel sickness is valid, but Wallis will be focussing on the dog in kennel in £10k final,Planning is improving rapidly out of traps, bend position, sectionals and overall times. I reckon another 35.29 or near would win the final, and you'd think he'd have acres of space outwide, which others will not

Super card, especially like the 10-bender, always a great race and should be. Will be nice to know if PP has actually come right somehow else I think the winner is pretty obvious and likely to be short.
As for the final, Swayne, MW may well get Planning right and whilst I can't argue against his victories, they were with help in my view. The last time (as my Oirish friends say) was particularly obvious and not sure the draw, good as it is, is enough to make him so short. Given dry conditions, that will surely be agin him too. I thought Maldini trapped far better from red a number of times and does tend to get it right in finals. I have a feeling he will be 3rd or 4th off the second corner and with 5 pinging and 4 showing some nice early, hmm who know? All about price really. Perhaps a lay of SJ and Planning will do, no tears if one of them wins and valid reasons for a result |
