Good card and just a few early thoughts:

7.40 Islas Scolari. Useful puppy and Lemon Pluto form been well advertised. Jaytee Hellcat may prove the main danger but on the comeback trail.

8.00 Great sprint with Fernhill Jess and You Mind Me the main two, imo. Lil Risky not really firing and his fans could get a big price.

8.15 Personal big flop for me in Eclipse Farloe Ironman out to make amends. Best Hove form ought to give him the edge. Alien Planet ran creditably in the Laurels and must be respected round here. Westmead Maldini gets behind and may come too late.
Report woodmanchester November 21, 2012 4:50 AM GMT
8.35 Good stayers race but questions to be answered with leading players Express Trend and Bubbly Swallow both ultimately disappointing in the Leger.

8.50 Wouldnt touch the hurdles with a barge pole.

9.10 Competitive marathon and shame some of these never turned out at the Zoo for the Laurels meeting last Tuesday. Storm Pockets ran well in the TV Trophy, whilst Capoley Ash was lifeless. Like hurdles, sometimes hard to call these slogs and Powerfast Pigeon coming to hand too. Aero Rebel could be interesting. Form may not be published but he's just done the clock over 680m Notts, but behind Pockets over 835m Monmore in October. Race a bit of a head-scratcher really.
Report woodmanchester November 21, 2012 5:00 AM GMT
9.25 Grand bitches race, almost to rival the St Leger final itself. All runners well known to greyhound fans and the race should have a significant bearing on the forthcoming Oaks. Bridge Ruth and Droopys Loner likely to head the market but we will have to see how Ruth handles the track in a race proper and Loner better nearer the inner running rail. Airforce Diva may attempt to swoop late but think she will be opposed round here. The remaining 3 useful in their own right.

Tissue done, waiting for early prices and any obvious mistakes but dont think any large bets will be going in for me
Report Addy_D November 21, 2012 7:25 AM GMT
woody i too have done the card but i just dont know why you put it on here until you are on. this forum deifnitely gets read and if several people all put their opinions up it will definitely influence prices - so you wont get the "obvious mistakes" you are after. i have one or two strong opinins but they wont be on here until late morning tomorrow.

i do disagree about the bitches race having a significant bearing on the oaks. the big 3 in the market will be trained to peak in a months time, not tomorrow, so you may well get a different result to this race in a months time. im looking at something else in the race if i can get a price.

good luck anyway.

There a lot of ifs and buts in most races tomorrow could not back trend or bubbly on last showing
In the six bend race I might play coolavanny nut job if a nice price
Ironman looks a likie leader in his race but he's in and out problem is he might get picked up by strong dogs in the race
Islas dog looks pretty good eye on the six if a price see 39-40kg pup
Think ash likes this place but he's not been the same since drapers let him go
Bitchs race going to hope for a big shock !
I've allready played Peggy for the final

Agree Fatty, Trend and Swallow were below par and need to do better, but could.

Capoley's trial form is very good but ran a stinker in TV Trophy, hard to weigh up. Believe Storm Pockets is going to Shelbourne Park for the Night of Stars now.

Using 365 as a guide, thought 6/4 Islas, 6 Maldini, 8 Pigeon, 5/2 Ruth and 16/1 Emma would have been slightly shorter.

Also thought 11/4 Risky would have been bigger

Flappy, you can get 2/1 your beloved Loner with Hills, i know youre an even bigger fan than me. Just think she dont quite get home at Plough Lane but may stay on better against her own s*x here. Ruth for me though, small interest with a view to Oaks.

Fancy Ironman but my mate likes Alien. Obvously both have very useful form round here and Alien ran creditably in the Laurels and Ironman flopped in the Eclipse. My mate could have a point but if breaking 6/4 Ironman seems fair and reckon silver in the Derby counts for a lot

Good luck!

7.40 - Islas Scolari @ 7/4 + 13/8 (Looks the best drawn dog to me. The top doesn't want to be there and will surely move off causing problems for the 2 and 3 that don't usually come away. The 5 and 6 are wide so Islas Scolari should have a nice run up through the middle and with a decent start he leads all in my opinion)

8.15 - Alien Planet @ 11/4 (I think he's value to turn over Ironman. Ironman never really trapped that well from 1 during the Derby and i think he has to be leading here. Alien Planet flew around here Derby night off probably his best ever break and trialled well last week. Once he can clear Rusheen Major to the corner either in front of Ironman or behind him i think that gives him a massive chance)

9.25 - Airforce Diva @ 9/2 (I'm slightly worried that Wimbledon won't really suit her but i really like her draw. With Loner in 4 looking to move inwards (hamper Bridge Ruth??) Diva should have plenty of room to the corner and once she can hold Jaytee Cuba on her outside she can turn in a decent pitch. If doing so and able to be within 3L off likely leader Loner into the 3rd i think she will back run her)

9.45 - Blonde Fletch @ 4/1 (Just trap well, then he leads, goes a mile clear, hold your breath from the 2nd last, hope he lasts home)
Report woodmanchester November 22, 2012 9:41 AM GMT
Oh, one last point before i get on with my daily tasks: On best recent form, the stayers is a match between Trend and Swallow. Not really stuck on either of them but betting-wise, 11/4 Swallow could be value in what could be a 2-runner race, one of them looking highly likely to bounce back. Having said all that, preferring to watch though

7.40 - NB - Islas Scolari. I think the world of this dog and showed nice gears behind Lemon Pluto recently. Excellent recent trial, I reckon he leads and makes all. Respect red but I don't see him flying up from there, plus as PF says I dont think he will hug the rail.

8.00 - No Bet. Rarely play sprints but can see why Fernhill Jess is fancied. 8 has a draw and it may be I play small there.

8.15 - Respect Ironman as a dog but i hate dogs essentially need to front run in red at Wimbledon, especially when they are short. You need everything going for you at that price without the complications of having to move off a little because of the running rail. I have a high regard for Alien Planet but I want to be certain he is back to his best and is priced the same as my tissue. Westmead Maldini will need luck and a clear run but I'm a sucker for the dog and have played small.

8.35 - Express Trend and Bubbly swallow, neither set the world alight last time - not sure why Swallow ran so poorly. I'd be looking to take them both on here, can see Coolavanny Fairy at 10s showing up early enough and making the frame. Not entirely straight forward, I think the price more than compensates and is very big considering in my mind front two in market don't appear to be bomb proof. I also think Brinklys SKy has a run in it and may end up following him over a cliff if he keeps teasing me, but I will play him tonight at a price with the front two looking a touch vulnerable.

8.50 - hurdle race, no bet.

9.10 - NAP - Capoley Ash. That 42.07 trial has only been bettered by Robles, Reagan and Romeo Patrol in the entire St Leger campaign - that tells you how far clear he ought to be after the first lap. He stays well enough and I have a lot of time for the trainer (not saying I dont with Sallis). The dog is class and I think she might get him somehwere back to his best. Aero Rebel I think may be flattered by the Nottingham going, its on fire, and that line of form is head and shoulders above anything else its done. Storm Pockets looks short to me and will probably have to come from 10 lengths off the pace. Taking the fitness of Capoley Ash slightly on trust, I think he has a great chance.

9.25 - Amazing race, but I think Loner takes the ground of Bridge Ruth and Diva will move in slightly. Gives a great solo to Jaytee Cuba out wide and Im happy to chance she can nip round infront in a troubled race at the start at 14/1.

9.45 - very open race, can make a case for anything really, and i will wait to see the prices later on the machine, but as PF says, 4/1+ could be considered generous about a dog that will probably lead despite stamina issues and I think red has a run in it, might play level stakes the pair if prices are right later.

Good luck everyone hope we all win $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I have less than three years stats on the Don since they changed sides, when it was icy cold you could rely on the insides as I remember. Years ago you could back the outsiders in trap one as well at a profit, especially in the early rounds of the derby. Have any regulars noted any trends with regard to the track condition since the change over ? (its regularly muted on here and sky that the red is disadvantaged nowdays)

fk me, you bet like Fatty's nan

fancy loads of them but theyre just too short and just know something will happen. Agree bottom has one hell of a draw in the sprint but just runs too wide off the corners. Agree with Alien, he was the one I wanted to be with when the card was out but he trapped last time in the final and was edging left and couldnt make the corner. I see the same tonight so gl with him.

Left fortunes behind when SP got beat in the Tv Trophy but he really should be winning this. Got a feeling for PP  though, looks a huge price if bouncing back to form.
