That's right NGU but it also means 4 races were run just to eliminate one dog, doesnt it?
|
|
By:
Mystery is the wrong word really, coz obviously, it's not. As previously said, just dont think it's fair.
Dogs finishing down the field in 5th have usually encountered varying degrees of trouble, making end-times irrelevant and qualification a mockery. Dont want to upset anyone, but think a 48-dog Stake would be fairer |

Maybe it should have been 48 dogs to begin with. Lots of deadwood and a round less might have been better instead of it so longdrawn out. Okay, a few disappointments for the ones that didnt get in, but would they have had a realistic chance anyway?
|
|
By:
Some of what would have been described as 'dead wood' prior to yeterday won their heats though Woody!

Okay, it was just a thought

It was announced by Curraheen Park on Tuesday evening that Sunvalley John has been withdrawn from the first heat in the second round of the Red Mills Irish Laurels on Saturday night.
The son of Crash and Mikado Miss which is trained by Michael Hallahan for Claire Lawless was due to race from trap six in the opening heat. This means that the line-up for that race is now: 1 Cuil Cougar; 2 Black Warrior; 3 Money Talks; 4 Cashen Mafuma; 5 Blue Jet Sky; 6 Vacant. Back to Talking Dogs |
|
By:
Ballymac Vic 27.94, new Tr Rec............short price fav now
|
|
By:
Money Talks beat Derby runner up Cuil Cougar in 28.11. Ashfield Impact did well, 28.32, but Knockglass Billy can do better. Cambushmore took the scalp of Confident Rankin, 28.41. Camas Crash, 28.56, gamely beat an unlucky Razldazl Rioga, who missed the kick, jostled about and couldnt get clear. Ballymac Vic superb, (as Jay said 27.94) kicking myself didnt go with him now seeing as he was my big Derby hope, but not past the post yet. My Allen Master 2nd but beaten a long way, will have to do much better to figure in future. Boherna House no mistake, 28.14

watching replays anyone think Droopys delfion big at 100/1 and 150/1
think it was crossed at the start stopped when making a race winning move at the 3rd turn looking at its form allways in first 3 spot value maybe! at a price |
|
By:
Boherna House is still a huge price @ 16/1. Ballymac's got loads of pace outside him next week. Knockglass Billy made a balls of it last night at the traps. Tafari and Money Talks are no slouches either. 1st bend will be interesting! Liveanddangerous had another look last night as well. Don't think he'll get away with it again
|
|
By:
I hope you are right Fatty as I backed him before the 1st round. Great middle pace and the type to keep getting through.... I hope!

I think Ballymac Vic will struggle, especially if breaking slow from that box
|
|
By:
Fantastic dog Vic, but will be out on his ear if he misses it like the Derby. 2/1 too short. Wishing the dog no harm, gone small on 12/1 Knockglass Billy and 16/1 Boherna House to add to 33/1 Allen Master
|
|
By:
An e/w bet at 20/1 1/4 a place ist 4 looks a fair bet on Liveanddangerous ..
|
|
By:
Liveandangerous will be disqualified soon enough, you're taking a big chance backing him in my opinion

Fine run by Allen Master.
Just needs a nice trap draw for once. Running very well. |
|
By:
Delfione gave his chance away of a semi at the first bend, if anyone wanted a top six bend dog in the making thats it !
Shaneboy **** by the two at trap wise **** when running up rioga ass at the 3rd turn ! VIC running so well thought the knock glass stuck to guns run him pretty close |
|
By:
Rioja draw almost did for him

Allen Master has a lovely draw in the semi final, his main problem is he doesn't run the 3rd bend at Curraheen he stops into it every night, hopefully he qualifies for the final. Not happy with the draw for Ashfield Impact, he will need to fly the lids from out in 5. Hopefully he does, the dog has stunning early

Had 3 going for varying amounts antepost. Ballymac Vic (in treble - i know i'm pushing it), Knockglass Billy and Allen Master. How lucky am i all 3 qualified after drawn together? Should have done the trio!

Camas Crash looks like a real Shelbourne prospect for the Tote Gold Cup and Easter Cup next year. Fantastic down the back.
Looks to have been lucky with his opposition in the semi final but I suspect something will get away from him round here in the final if he qualifies. |

Liam Dowling yesterday gave a very positive report on his brilliant tracker Ballymac Vic which is now a 4-5 favourite with the layers for the Connolly’s Red Mills Irish Laurels. Last week Vic had been a little off-colour early in the week but Dowling said yesterday that “he is much better this week. He has been bouncing for the last couple of days and now we can just keep our fingers crossed”. Liam continued: “We are now in the semis but the old saying is that you’re only as good as your last game. He has to hold his form as he has a lot of running done but has got nothing out of it yet. We would be thrilled to get to the final but in semis you always need a little bit of luck”. All the major Irish based firms have quoted Ballymac Vic as the 4-5 favourite to become the Laurels champion and the best prices available are 4-5 Ballymac Vic; 8 Camas Crash, Confident Rankin; 10 Boherna House, Razldazl Rioga, Knockglass Billy; 20 Allen Master, Cashen Mafuma, Liveanddangerous; 25 Ashfield Impact; 50 Ballybough Hawke, Tinas Nova |

My final six
VIC LIVEANDDANGEOUS ALLEN MASTER K BILLY RIOGA CAMAS CRASH MY only bet at 20/1 e/w 1st 4 is Liveandangeous..There could be big trouble at the 1st bend in the 2nd heat Vics right price is 5/4. |
|
By:
Liveanddangerous will be too busy trying to chew the heads off the dogs outside him to take advantage of any traffic at the 1st bend

|
By:
AS i said before Liveanddangerous is well named but is a dog of great Ability ..25/1 with PP AT THE MIN is a fair e/w bet. i think he has a great chance of making the final but i am aware that most dont want him because of his Behavior Problems.

Fighters usually have buckets of ability, but get side tracked. I'm a Boherna House backer myself. 20's and 16's

Ballymac Vic is flying and should duly land the second semi. Hopeful of a place in the final for 33/1 antepost shot Allen Master. May yet go quicker round here, judged on his 28.38sec 525yds Shelbourne. Remaining spot could either be Boherna House or Confident Rankin but they need room to manoeuvre, could be who secures the smoothest passage.
Razldazl Rioga has a good chance to get clear in the first semi. 12/1 play Knockglass Billy hasnt come away well past twice, but capable of far better. Just favour Ashfield Impact to reach the final over Camas Crash but could be a close call |
