Hi all, i'm quite curious how BAGS trainers earn their money. Is the main income solely from Kennel bills or do they get paid a retainer by the stadium they provide dogs for or do they get paid per each dog they provide?
No simple answer, as it varies from track to track.
All trainers will charge a daily rate.
Some tracks pay nothing other than the advertised prize money - and some tracks expect the trainer to take a percentage of that money (e.g. Hall Green).
Others pay a bonus dependent on the number of runners supplied in a given month (e.g. Nottingham)
Others still pay a "retainer" based on the number of runners declared as available to run (e.g. Monmore)

Some get it from all angles e.g. buy Greyhound 1K, sell to owner 2K charge 8 quid a day plus vat contract payment from owner of stadium run money from track on Bags (that should go to the owner) Bungs from wealthy owners ........

99%+ of trainers are definitely struggling - TBH I have absolutely no idea how those running for around £40 a win and £10-£15 others can pay the bills.

Think stow-judge has covered how well they are doing above, prize money is the owners problem not being able to meet the bills presented by the trainers.

The ones at the bookmaker owned Bags track and one or two of the top open trainers will be doing fine. The rest must be hanging on by their fingernails.

Are any trainers on here laying their short ones to avoid bankruptcy and starvation? The apalling levels of prizemoney sooner or later will become a real integrity issue . While i do not condone this i for one cant say i would blame anyone who started messing about to keep their head above water. When trainers are desperate its inevitable some will take the dishonest route. What have they got to loose if they are going out of business anyway ???

ran awesome considering it was a totally undeserved double upgrade, msbrk showed most ep in a very solid race found the winner on a good day stuck on gamely for second. over the moon with the run it was a big hike in class.
He has already by far exceeded my expectations tbh. and there should be bit more to come.
