To be announced in the RP tomorrow apparently but a little birdie tells me that there will in fact be two new kids on the block. Surely the only way to make a living at the game these days is to get a contract at one of the bookmaker owned tracks so good luck to both.
Different subject, and I know all the arguments about the Derby being a GRA competition, but would there be a better actual track than Hove to stage the Derby if/when Wimbledon disappears?
If it is Dean Childs and Paul Garland, they will be great additions to the track strength.
Dean has a plethera of good dogs, and is at Hove most weeks anyway in the opens, plus Paul will help with the grading strength.
Approx how many dogs would each of these trainers have to offer Hove roughly?

how many trainers that leave wimbledon with now? couldnt fill a card anyway with 10 card races, will be impossible now, feel for the racing office for sure

They are the names I had heard earlier (and have also now been posted on G-Data). Believe that they are required to have a minimum of 35 dogs on the strength but will probably be given some time to get the numbers up if needs be.

Its not the grading sending the trainers fleeing but the uncertainty, Kinky. If Garland goes that'll only leave Simmo, Foster, Rees and Doyle from the old school and a couple of them don't have a lot of dogs right now. God knows what sort of cards they will be able to put on at the "home of the Derby".
