I was impressed with Holloway Road in the 1st round...and love his draw in the semi.
John Mullins won this comp a few years back, so knows what is required. Sakara Star ran a strange race at first glance and I was expecting him to cruise past Jazz Apollo at the 3rd, but on reflection of the whole meeting, I'm now convinced that the outside was not running at any stage of the meeting. More than one wide didn't run as well as could have been expected, so on a level track in the semi's, the form may be turned on it's head somewhat? |
|
By:
I thought Holloway ran well too, I am on him and Mark My Words each way, and they've drawn same heat, from 2 to qualify
MMW has not been breaking so well but did at Monmore Final and in Round 1, and Be Real when gets the inside can be half decent out ( a la POSH Derby) so Im not sure Holloway Road can get round, if he gets out and on bunny I think he can do fast time, but I think there may be trouble at the seaside![]() |

By:
Is be real not a bit of value @25s
|
|
By:
could do worse noflap, he has good record of making big finals. I fancied him for POSH derby before draw came out at but thought would wait for draw and he got 6 in first round and even though there were many withdrawls, 6 still not good, I think he was 14's in semis from a bad draw too, and then he nailed them in final being inside Newinn Rocket and Smart Bid. I think this is stronger comp. but D Mullins said in RP he is best dog in his kennel and were thinking of Irish Derby for him, he is strong and getting stronger I reckon
|
|
By:
btw did not back be real, was on Smart Bid after 1st round and magic sign did not change their odds from first round
but unfort bad draw in final did for him![]() |

Well, surprise, surprise, my Ironman out, so looking at 5/1 Loughteen Blanco now. Airlie Impact closely matched but that one may find it tougher to get a run and the races become more competitive, bowling along out in front the best place to be, imo. Looking at a little 20/1 poke Bubbly Jaytee, too. He needs to work on his starting technique but could be a player if doing so. Mark My Words led, may not do so again in this competition but still a bit to find on the clock, so passing him by. Fear Lenson Bob though, looks very fast, like Blanco
|
|
By:
Had my play 20/1 Bubbly Jaytee, due an exit and interest on Blanco too. 3/1 Jaytee for his individual heat gone, i was too slow. Not as interested in 5/2 so just hope he qualifies, Mark My Words never been better though, respected. Same story Blanco. Missed the 7/4 and 5/4 dont appeal, too fast for them really though. So, just done a little sneaky treble the pair and Pinky, seen 7/2, looks a price n half to me!
Lenson Bob versus Airlie Impact a cracker. If the latter gets his run, close call but Bob make all on first round form, looks very fast. From a selfish point of view, wouldnt be upset if both eliminated, would aid my ante-post cause |

.....SHANEBOYS 6 easy steps to victory tonight.....
..BACK..Loughteen Blanco.....LAY..Sakara Star.. ..BACK..Bubbly Jaytee.....LAY..Be Real.. ..BACK..Lenson Bob.....LAY..Offshore Rebel.. .....EASY WINNINGS!!!!..... |

By:
Farlie Impact @2/1 for me in the 3rd heat. Lenson Bob has a poor draw in 2.

By:
Airlie Impact even

did holloway road ping out last night?
if so the penny must of dropped ![]() |
|
By:
Just goes to show you how unpredictable dog racing is. Antepost favourite Lenson Bob flew out in the first round but made a hash of it last night. You may or may not have the draw your way but unless youre out well, it's usually curtains.
Still got Blanco in there pitching. 1-1 with favourite Arilie Impact and it could be close again. My other fancy Bubbly Jaytee seems best watched at the moment |
|
By:
Holloway Rd broke well, not exceptional. but he accelerated early pace up and led into bend, never more than a length ahead and held Mark My Words and Be Real off by 1/2 length or so. You can watch Thursdays on RPGTV.com internet, if not in front of TV

cheers swayne was up coventry watching a footy match so missed it if it held off MMW must of been a decent run in the final so 40s now massive price, did u notice if h1lls was first 4 ew normally is but i didnt write it down and not showing full details on open bets
woody a oldboy proper dogman used to always tell me just because a dog pinged out and won doesnt mean it will do the same next run, diferenent day /different race/track etc and i always bear it in mind and dont get carried away but last week i went against it and lumped on the mill dog (sprint race on sky) after seeing its run the week before ![]() |
|
By:
was a god run, but Maldini did 3 lengths quicker. think it's hard final to call. I am on MMW and HR small each was AP, and latter is with Hills and written it down first 4, which is what all firms were offering before comp started,

wheres the aeroplane SAKARA STAR??
|
|
By:
Shows glimpses but always flatters to deceive, imo
|
|
By:
cant see 1 breaking as well as it needs to from its draw, 6 is plotted and looks the ideal type for the track, surprised its odds against
|
|
By:
Think it must be odds against Wonder, imo. Closely matched with Blanco and Maldini and Words not totally out of it
|
|
By:
By the way, Sakara looked smart when younger winning 4 from 6 but since then, only won once in 15 attempts
|
|
By:
.....1 from 15 is still a better strike rate than you have woodmanchester.....

Yeah, i flatter to deceive too!

By:
sakara star is way over rated imo i listen to people calling him an aeroplane week in week out!!!! he looks unlucky against moderate dogs and runs on in moderate times he will win in his class now and again but he had his chance to show he was an aeroplane when he got loose in the first round and got picked up !!! but thats just my opinion he did look a decent pup but hasnt come on
