Top 10 lists have been an ever present part of the Betfair forum since the start and I love them.

stow 1stly im not a miserable sod, you are missing the point as i find some top 10 lists both enjoyable and interesting, what i find disturbing is your subject matter of the top 10 presenters/ guests/ pundits on the rptv channel, i mean honestly is it a big thing naming 10 greyhound industry gravy train riders ? . i think not oh and for the record that jason bloke is an uphill gardener imho

I'd put Rab, Clemmo, Hobbsy & Jason Barrasford as my joint top 4, although JK is starting to impress me.

It's obvious that certain guests are starting to be repeated more & more, which is ok, but not at the expense of new guests/trainers, which should always be the priority to keep it fresh.

On a Thursday for example, the "guest" should be someone associated with Hove/Monmore who knows their stuff, i.e. Derek Knight, Seamus Cahill or similar
On a Friday for example, the "guest" should be someone associated with Romford/Sunderland, i.e. Paul Young etc... 

Unless they started broadcasting from the tracks, that's not too likely. The studio for the 1st year is somewhere near Tottenham Court road I believe, then it will be broadcast from RP studios at Canary Wharf. (The initial plan is for two years, you would hope this should continue, as it has been pretty successful)

I'm sure many thought Jason Barrasford was a right d1ck at first. I think he is a good laugh on there at times. He is not slow to take the p1ss out of his guests or himself. A studio full of experts would normally be dull, so it's good to see a proportion of people who don't take themselves too seriously and are "themselves" rather than trying to be something they are not, or trying to be too clever.

I cannot understand why you want trainers on the show.

They are pretty useless in assessing the form of their own dogs and totally and utterly incompetant at assessing anyone else's. They train dogs, I bet less than 1% could make a profit from tipping dogs.

If they get trainers on please ask questions about something they are expert on ie. training dogs/running a kennel. Ask about how they train their dogs, about injuries, about dealing with owners, about cost of dogs/cost of training, different types of tracks etc. But please dont ask them to provide meaningless tips and plese stop the inane dross of emails from the likes of peter from pottersfield who thinks the 3's on favourite will run a big race in the 8pm.

The likes of JK, Paul Lawrence and Donaldson should be the mainstay.
Get the geezer off sky to dumb it down now and again and the odd trainer who can string 3 words together.

I think you are largely right. Rab has done ok though and I'm sure Seamus would do ok. How did Mark Wallis do on there wrt selections? Remember, anyone can have a mare on a single night on there. It's over the longer term that counts. I have no interest in their tips, as long as they speak with a bit of passion about the game and have a sense of humour, I'm happy.

Cahill is way too boring to have on tv for more than 2 minutes, Knight would not let the viewers know who he fancied tommorow at Chester and Young is very hard work to listen to for anmore than 15 seconds. So they should immediately be struck off.

Good God, I wouldnt mind having a pint at the bar with him but his aftertiming/abysmal form analysis should not be glossed over just because he is funny at time.

Mr Cahill is a really nice bloke. I have shared a pint or several with him on a good few occasions. Likewise, Paul Young is a top man.

I am not bothered whether they tip every winner from here until christmas or nil winners in their next 1000.

But I want a coherant and rational explanation for their tips.
It offends and affects my brain when they just say, I like the 6 here, `Why', `I just like him in this race', `Ok, heres the bunny'.

Wallis is the only trainer I have heard who tries to analyse a race in any sort of coherant way before the off.

Chill out mate! It's not easy to have a view on the 25 or so races shown.

They could be the nicest men since Jesus Christ.

Or Young saying `well, y'know I like the 6 ere, y'know, hes got a nice draw an ey, y'know I like the 6, y'know'.

No I cant chill out, they are useless and it spoils my viewing when imbeciles in broadcasting terms are on a show for 3 hours!

It is the only thing on tv I watch other than racing and boxing.
I wouldnt be forced to listen to frank bruno for 3 hours straight so why should I have to listen to the likes of Rab.

Ok, what if a hove trainer was just asked about the hove races etc. That would be rather a good idea dont you think? And blanks out 50% of the nonsense/tilt inducing dross.

It's also important for the main presenter to ask the right sort of questions to bring out the best from the guests. We don't actually have talented Greyhound presenters and guests queueing around the block. We all have our likes & dislikes from those that have been on there, but remember it is not an easy job. Mostly, we are surely happy to just see the Greyhound racing and the odd good guest or two is a bonus.

The pictures are good, the commentaries excellent, the presenters do a fine job, the continuity fine.

They just need to stop the shiiite trolling emails, ask guests questions about subjects they have a clue about and pay a young kid £50 a meeting to send in the odd report from the track.

Three hours is a long time to fill. I think communicating with the viewers is a good thing, but you are right that they read out too much of the rubbish sent in.

Disagree stow. I think Daryl Williams is an excellent presenter, Errol very good and Jason very decent.
JK, PL and PD are all clearly talented at studying form and conveying it in a verbal form.

Its the trainers/pr lot that need brushing up. Isnt it the producers/directors job to feed plenty of the questions for the presenters to ask/set the agenda?

i have very much enjoyed the show each time i've watched, for me clemmo is a great listen when he talks about the dogs he trained, as for tipping i never ever back tips from anyone but rab, phlipot, d ruth, and that morton lad have tipped up lots of winners.

In my opinion,for what it is worth,bearing in mind my history on this topic,is that the "duck" is way way out in front of any of the others,his knowledge is brilliant,his demeanor on the couch portrays someone who knows his job, and is confident.The little Scottish person reminds me of Willie Carson,who poor Clare has to compensate for,due to lack of an education.
