Nothing to do with tomorrows race addy but...

I have one issue with the dog at min,i think hes easily intimidated,at monners he really looked after himself which to me is a bit of a worry with a pup cos they usually all smash n grab, rough and ready and it takes a while before they start looking to avoid a bit of contact?

Perhaps hes just a clever so and so already,or perhaps im wrong, which is more likely.lol

might be right, cant say ive noticed but then cant say i remember too much about the monmore races either. i've never bet him before and not bet him antepost, just think he should be a lot shorter than 4/5 tomorrow.

Starbets preview this week.

Ruth trio to dazl again in Wimbledon
By Robert Catterson

There's likely to be a hell of a lot of channel switching for the sofa-bound greyhound fans later on tonight. While RTE will be showing live coverage from Shelbourne Park, Wimbledon will be staging the English Derby third round heats live on Sky Sports 3. And it's undoubtedly the best night of this year's Classic so far.
With the defection of Barefoot Allstar, there's now just eight Irish-trained greyhounds remaining in the competition but the card isn't likely to be short of Irish winners. First up to represent the tri-colour will be Razldazl Jayfkay in heat two and fresh from his stunning track record performance last week, he's near impossible to oppose if turning up in anyway near the same form. At best-priced 1/4, he's no betting propostion but he should win with ease again. The first betting propostion of the night comes in heat three but it's not with the Irish runner here in Shelbourne Geoff. Having been a big follower of Pat Curtin's canine all throughout last year's Irish Derby, I'm plenty familiar with the former Brian King-trained charge. However, I've never been convinced that he's a greyhound who will excel around Wimbledon and while he's done well so far in this year's Derby, I can't see him getting much further. And that's why Mill Bling Bling is extremely appealing at 3/1 with Paddy Power to win heat three. There are two Irish representatives in heat four where Razldazl Rioga and Ruthless Man are worthy challengers but Rioga, fresh from a fine win last week, gets the nod at an attractive 13/8 with Ladbrokes. Ruthless Man looks good enough to qualify here too. Heat seven will see Droopys Jet seek his first win of the Derby so far when he locks horns with Coolavanny Bert and Blonde Snapper and while Frazer Black's canine hasn't yet reached the heights expected, this looks a fine opportunity for him to enter the English Derby picture. If there was a greyhound worth backing on the outright front heading into the third round action, he could be the one and there's currently 33/1 on offer about Frazer Black's sole representative. Like heat four, the night's final heat will also comprise of two Irish raiders and the duo of Judicial Ruling and Razldazl Bugatti are likely to dominate the betting too. Judicial Ruling was one of the stars of last week's action but he'll be facing an improving Razldazl Bugatti here and at the prices, Bugatti definitely gets the call. He's a greyhound who can excel around Wimbledon in the weeks to come.
The only heats we haven't mentioned are heats one, five and six, the three heats with no Irish runners. Bubbly Phoenix, formerly trained by Ian Reilly, can resume winning ways in the opening heat while Boher Paddy can provide the answer in heat five, which could very well be one of the races on the card. And at 11/8 with William Hill, reigning champion Taylors Sky will be hugely popular to oblige in heat six. And that price could very well be worth taking.

How on earth can sponsors Hills make JFK only 5/2 outright with just 2 rounds gone and 4 to come? They want their heads feeling! Okay, he has it easy tonight in the 3rd round but i would be betting against breaks like the previous round and likely to meet speedsters like Sky, Judicial, Phoenix, Pedro, Bugatti, Rioga, Bling and Snapper in later rounds, obviously wont find it easy to lead and could struggle, madness!

Well done with the 4/5 Phoenix Addy. Big in my book too and ought to win. Same goes for another you could have had at 4/5 Judicial, both looks bankers. Couldnt go for them in the tipping comp though, coz i reckon sp much shorter.

Hoping for a big improvement from Taylors Sky. If he bounces back, the current 9/1 ante-post will look very large

my bets for tonight

9.00 small bet on graigues orchid at 14/1, just incase theres trouble outwide

9.35 razldazl rioga at 6/4, should hold 4 early and make all.

9.50 farloe iceman, too big at 10/1 imo.

10.25 coolavanny bert at 2/1, should win if it clears 1 early.

10.40 tinas nova at 5/1 (my main ante post bet so just want it to quilify) worried about the 1 box
but can ping and might just lead round if 3 holds up 5.

good luck all.

Clayfield it's usually non-runner/no bet on the day of the race or previous day. Before that, some bookies class it as ante-post and you could lose your money, always safest to check.

Anyway Addy, what's all this about your "overstaking"? Youre always usually moaning you cant get a decent bet on?! Wink

it was banter woody, suggesting 4/5 was very big in my eyes, and ive had a good 8/10 bet - easier to get a bet when the dog is short.

only really ever overstake woody when i go all in at cheltenham on the money making machine Big Bucks. Genuinely won me an abscene amount of money over the last couple of years and my biggest ever bet was least year when he was odds against beating Grands Crus - believe facts and not hype woody!!!

I hope the derby takes a turn tonight and becomes less predictable, track seems to be running fast might as well be watching 2 bend sprint racing!

going to take a few big price chances Graigues Orchard got a smash in him and A-list ability when does it right, 2 moving off should have a solo 14's is fair due to needing the default with JFK making a mistake, 5-4 to qualify and will be looking to bet him without fav also

Tyrur Jusitn looks big at 10's, ok 5 running out is nut but had it all own way maybe not tonight? Charlie will bring him forward and will prefer this draw and make up imo

Taylors Cruise, got a bit vicious with age chasing his nut off, will much prefer this draw shouldn't lose any lengths run up or at first tonight and we have already seen how much running he has been doing from halfway, another progressive Lister type also

looking forward to it, i'd sign for 2 of the 3 above winning now Excited

2 bets for me tonight graigues orchard ew @ 14 think 4 and 5 might come together out the boxes and graigues plotted with 2 tortoises outside it if jayfkay bangs out think 1 comes 2nd so 7/2 a place ta very much. jaytee pedro @ 2 running eyeballs out and was very underwelmed with taylors sky last round took an age to shake off french blue !! plot draw to boot as 4 will cut the corner. mark my words nearly got added as i think it will get a great posi tucked in behind the early paced railers and if 1 gets hold of 2 could easily slow the race down but im not sure its having the track so reluctlnly passed. will take a couple of quid out of jayfkay for reasons stated above and will also be laying judicial who will have to do everything right tonight to clear all the early in the race @ odds on no ta !!!!!! good luck to all

Not an easy draw outside Bubbly and will have to look lively at traps.
