People don't realise how hard it is to commentate when something unusual happens. Seeing so many dog races every week, you get used to how they unfold etc and you can normally plan your commentary say a couple of seconds in advance because you know from experience whats likely to happen. When something unusual happens you have to stop and think and its hard to do that and commentate at the same time. The other day I gave someone a commentary on a race where one of the dogs fought, and all I managed to say in the last 8-10 seconds of the race was "oh fack me 3's fighting, erm, uh, erm, oh 1's won".

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”
