The white alsations were magic. :) :)

They appeared near the temparary(that is actually permanent)stand between the first 2 races on a cold Monday. They then p1ss off for a while.

Anyway, the dogs are about to load for the next race when these 2 massive wolf like creatures decide to come back. Ian(he of the Andy Johnson, Karen Prince, Barry Riddiford and Weatherhall kennel) and my myself are the only 2 people outside as they start to load. Being University educated, I do the obvious thing and f**k off back inside whilst Ian, being a brave tw*t, decides the 1 dog in the next is obviously a good thing in the cold weather and is not going to let 2 killer dogs ruin it.

Ian wanders towards them whilst at the same moment Woodsy, over the speakers, tells the handlers to get the dogs back into the kennels. At this moment another brave and ultimately stupid pair appear to help Ian. Martin Burt only employs nutters! Sam and Ant come to help Ian. ;)

The next 30 seconds were brilliant entertainment. The three brave souls quickly realise there is a tad of difference between putting a lead on either Lakers Raffles or Proud Ronaldinio than there is these two Pikey Guard dogs who have come for a wander! Ian nearly loses his right arm whilst Sam showed enough pace to win a an A8, providing he drew trap 1, in a bid to escape death!

The alsations then decide to jump onto the track and for the next 2 or 3 mins, with BAGS getting very annoyed at Monmore, jog around the track together having a bit of fun!

Eventually they get bored and just p1ssed off leaving us all to wonder where they came from and where they had gone to. However, they timed it well because, Frank Wright and Pete Richards had it sussed. They went down and got Me Keano and Conger King out to sort the mongrels out. :)

Firstly, I think it best the person (who in all seriousness) claimed they could be escaped baby polar bears remain anonymous. (Mainly because he got semi arsey when I couldnt stop pmsl).

One can only envisage the absolute and mortal fear that entered those poor Alsatians minds as Sam and Ant appeared over the horizon in a rush of valour. :^0

As to what happened to the dogs the truth is now veiled in myth and mystery.. The 2 most plausible explanations, well to my mind are :-

1. An unnamed trainer ...copped hold of the pair, got them shaved and tried unsuccessfully to grade 'em on.. :)

2. Both dogs were forced into a sharp exit when faced with the snack bar staff hurling freshly cooked burgers in their general direction, never to return in case similar retribution.. :)

Ian was awesome in fairness. He got to within about 15 feet of one of them whilst I was still stood at the door. The dog lets off the most scarey growl you could imagine but still he continued to approach the thing! He would certainly have done a good job in the trenches had he been born 80 years earlier.

Quality post mm. Had me in stitches. Ian is quality, I would actually pay him to turn up at the BAGS meetings just for the comedy value of him betting on anything with a pulse.

would not be surprised if it's abandoned tonight. Snow coming down as I type. The sun is also breaking out between little snow flurries though so there is hope.

The big problem tonight is the open racers. One trainer who trains near me has 3 runners. He will be mad to attempt going over with the forecast we have late tonight. He will still be on the M6 come Monday.

I just wish yesterday had been abandoned. I knew the luck I had the other day with 4 massive financial short head winners would come back to haunt me. The sight of the two Conger rogues winning was not pleasent viewing.

I am surprised Conger King got DQd. Obviously his intention was to have a fight when he nearly floored La Galga** but he didn't really turn his head, it was more of a rugby tackle. Personally I would have DQd him but I didn't expect the office to. I have seen worse fights go unpunished.

I said the dirty pig would get away with it at the time but was pleasently suprised to see the red card handed out. One of them dogs I will gladly not miss. I still can't belive I was given the opportunity to lay him at odds on a few weeks back! Gave that back yesterday though. Will be worse fights go unpunished.

Dont bet open races now. Used in the past. Raynes Park in the first would be my pick.
