Walthamstow Stadium regeneration guidelines announced Susie Sell, Regen.net
Guidelines setting out the London Borough of Waltham Forest's vision for Walthamstow Stadium have been published.
The guidelines - which are aimed at assisting potential developers looking to regenerate the stadium - call for large family-sized homes with private gardens to be considered for the site, and suggest the housing density should not exceed 200-250 rooms per ha.
The report also emphasises the opportunity for any proposals to draw on the site's 1930s architectural heritage, and suggested the listed kennels could be used for car and bicycle parking.
It also suggest that the central track area could become a public park and the former stands facing the site could house 'arts space'.
Housing association London and Quadrant - which owns the site - is expected to submit a planning application for the Walthamstow Stadium site in autumn this year.
