can you believe we have witnessed the Tiger comeback and lefty at 50 in just a couple of years - what would make a nice hattrick? not in the same bracket, but a Casey major or something would be nice

Westwood at The Open would be something Hank in England if fans are there.

I do hope this re-enforces to the players why they have to say no to the Saudi whitewash money

|
By:
this course is a proper test of golf won by a seasoned pro who can justifiably stand alongside the greats of the game
a guy who has the skillsets, touch, guile and imagination to be able to play a game most of the bigged up,bang ordinary grip and rip merchants of today could only dream of replicating huge performance Phil you are Badass |
|

eng v SA - last week I'd have taken that...

To lose by 2 having made about a dozen shocking shots and putts must be exasperating.

What a day. I don't know where he dug this form out from but a superb performance on a fantastic course when it plays fast (unlike last time here). It would be great if this was the start of a year or two of Phil playing like he did 20 years ago but more likely he'll soon be back to hitting it all over the shop

i lost 64p.joint 11th place with zlat only return
![]() , strange thing havnt even got i looked at him moment for most of top 10,maybe lowry, havnt read all the thread but with all the gadgets their using surely theyve got to use the tv pictures more, the phil drop on 15 was an absolute joke ball went in water 40yds back from where he dropped it on the green, think the usa coverage give it much more scrutiny than skysports |
|
By:
Wasn't that just fantastic sport, brill from Phil the thrill. Pods T4th means he'll be driving down magnolia drive next year, I bet he thought his day's playing at August were well behind him, well done to sir.

By:
when you get to a certain age and been up there ,pride dictates you perform to the last shot to justify you turning up
think a lot of the big players soon as winning is out of the window they throw the towel in,so final result isnt really a reflection on performance, it was only 10 o clock on sunday night that some players got their 1st mention as in contention for places etc |
|
By:
bit like backing ryan moore/frankie ew expecting him to go all out to finish placed, when we no its a win or nothing to them
|
|
By:
Congrats to Pete Dye as well as Phil. Constructing a brute of a course that the bombers couldn't cope with. Great to see skill win as opposed to sheer power alone.

By:
ergh micko,s a bomber, kop,s a bomber,de chams a bomber, woodlandsa bomber all teed off in last groups in final round, where helping winds meant distance wasnt an issue in final round, last 4 holes were pitch n putt compared to 3 previous rounds,
the only noticable non bomber teeing off late streelmen folded like a pack of cards |
