Can't argue at all Hank, performance for the ages and given he's won consecutive tournaments in the past no reason he can't continue.
Re the Aussies your guess is as good as mine - Leishman woefully out of form but we know a very good player is in there somewhere, who knows when he reappears. Price certainly indicative of the form and not the player. Smith very difficult to get right, the gap between his best and worst is huge. Seems to peak toward the end of the year, I think the asian swing - west coast swing is the time to play him but don't let that put you off. As for the ponce it's apparently a difficult course which is the type of venue you expect him to do well, birdie fests are not for him. Without knowing much of the venue hard to offer more than that. |

Xander at 19s or Morikawa at 27s? Got a loyal army of backers these days Xander. Rory fans finally taking a week off.
Been reading a bit Olympia Fields is set to play similar to Harding Park so with so little course info to work off the PGA is as good a guide as any. |

Bah - gunna have to wait on a without market as have never and will never back a golfer in single figures pre off but anything and everything i look at points to a carbon copy of last week and DJ CRUSHING THE FIELD!!!
Bar a couple of holes he could/will play this course using 3 wood or long iron off upto 16 tee offs, all about accuracy and greens. |
|
By:
You never backed Tiger single figures back in the day?
|
|
By:
no, i was a latecomer to my love of golf, pretty much oblivious during his era, watched alot of reruns since like...

Decided to have a couple of EW pokes on Shelton and Cam Smith

|
By:
to be fair, DJ in this is about as close as it gets to someone value at single figures, simply due to it being half the field size as a normal event, still dont think it is but....

1. Thomas
2. Berger 3. Day (Can't leave him out - although maybe on the downturn) |

I've been a fan of Schauffele for a good while and he is an excellent player, but for a guy who's gone a long time without winning he's priced right up there with the game's elite now when he really hasn't shown quite enough to belong there.

The Xander love is a strange one. Now a full 10 points shorter than Collin which is batsh1t crazy. Think he's been tipped up too many times by the popular pundits so has a loyal following of backers.
|
|
By:
Coley tipped him up
|
|
By:
Clearly shorter than Bryson as well which again makes little sense to me. Anyway, I'm going in with the Harding Park All-Star team this week - DJ, Bryson, Collin, Day and Wolff. Just can't bring myself to back Scottie as yet.
|
|
By:
I like Coley but sometimes seems stuck with certain guys and X seems to be one of them. But we've all been there as gamblers- you don't want to miss out the week they finally win. Speaking of which, I've backed Mark Hubbard.

No sign of golf taking a stand with the other American sports in protest. Shocked, I tell you.

Interesting mix of scoring to start with.

Was a bit worried by the early flurry of scoring but looks like this is going to be a proper test, those greens are firm already.

thank fk for that - don't want a borefest tourny

Between the rough and the greens this could get major-y by the weekend. Fingers crossed.

Evening all. After backing everyone but the winner last week I am very much reverting to type this:
Schauffle Morikawa Berger Thomas and a steak saver on Rahmbo. Random outsider pick is Kokrak. Think the course looks a good challenge, and it should suit Collin if he has calmed down yet, but main bet is Xander each way with the books - unusually for me - because I really fancy him to at least go close this week. Thanks for the bonus Aussie coverage above, therhino, I enjoyed reading your thoughts. |

Pretty sure now the PGA Tour has released a statement racism in America should be cured.
